I can recommend both. Which is no help at all.
When the weather is bad, ie the winter months, we use the rubber mats.
Especially as we have to pick up grandchild from school and she is a mud magnet.
When the weather is dryer IE the summer we use the carpet mats.
On the whole, we don't keep swapping it is rubber in the winter, carpet in the summer.

both, depending on the season

+1

BTW if you are going to get rubber mats in the back it is worth getting one of these covers for the tunnel in the back. Especially if you have  [grand]children
or old people in the back.   Also, the proper Škoda mats fit exactly and have a raised lip round the edge that stops mud and liquid coming off the mat and onto the carpet.
You don't want to find that after the winter you had a damp soggy mess under the mat for the last few weeks/months

I'll add these to my basket, they aren't the stinky ones are they?

Oh they stink like some sort of rubber fetish dungeon.

The smell goes away quickly though.

Which is a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your preference. 😄

Mine, the official Škoda ones, didn't, and they came sealed in a plastic bag.  Perhaps I just didn't notice.

Also, they certainly don't smell like my BDSM dungeon, but then the slaves do keep it smelling nice.........

One other thing I got was the vent covers for the air con there is under the front seats that warm the rear foot wells. They should have been a standard fit, in my opinion.  The lip on the rear rubber mats come up to just below the holes. Small stuff rolls around the rubber mats far more easily than carpet.  So if you have children or carry stuff in the back, they are worth having. Otherwise, you can get things rolling round in the ducting under the front seats.

I like those vent covers. Neat!

For £14 they seemed like a good idea.   It is almost impossible to get things back out of the vents. EG pencils, crayons, sweets, toy cars etc. Especially if you have rubber mats in as stuff rolls more easily.

I got them from here https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07C86CGKC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title, but there are multiple places doing them

Just looked at a set for the Superb - they look great and with 2 littluns this will definitely be useful if they fit well. Cheers for the tip!

Mine turned up this week. Fit really well. Bottom line goes in, little screwdriver to lift the carpet around the top edge and they slip on really snugly.

@travs

Sorry about the delay in updating. I totally forgot about these. Placed the order today, it’s about 2 weeks for delivery.

I’ll let you know how it goes .

Thanks

John

They should be fitted as standard to all the range!

Re rubber vs carpet (for car mats obviously) due to the Climate Change hoax the weather has been unpredictable, and we never did end up putting the carpets back in over the "summer". So we have had the rubber mats in for the past 14 months since we got the car.

I would recommend the Škoda Original mats. They are heavy duty and have a mm perfect fit. Also, a solid 1cm+ lip round the edge so noting washes off the mat to the carpets. Which is the reason I fitted the grills to the air vents. The lip on the mat in the back goes right up to the vent.

What was the result of the poll on carpets vs rubber mats? ,

With all the rain we get now Rubber mats are really a must as long as you take them out ocassionaly to let the carpets air

My OEM rubber matts arrived this morning. They look very nice, I was however surprised by just how light they are, less than 50% of the weight of the normal versions.

No noticeable smell. I’ve 95 miles to Surrey and return tomorrow if they turn out to smell ,I’ll mention it here - no smell no mention 👍

I liked them because they fit precisely and don't move. Also, there is a 1cm+ solid lip round the edges so you are less likely to get any moisture or crap sliding off them an on to the carpets.

As I mentioned previously for the back there is also a rubber tunnel cover which is well worth putting in if you put children or old people in the back.

TBO, I spent enough on the car, it ate my monthly allowance upto and including April. So the tunnel cover can wait not normally and kids in my car as I’m an old fart, and my youngest Grandchild sits in the front and relegates her Mum and Gran to the back (not my idea but I’m not complaining).

The outlet covers for the rear AC outlets recommended by @travs arrived today, one damaged. Started the return, we’ll get a set eventually.

The one that’s not damaged looks good, I may try a dry fitment when we next get some dry weather as the last couple a days have continued the rain most of us have been receiving recently.

The Tunnel cover cost me about £15 but then I stick grandkids in the back. Stops them arguing which one is in the front.

The rear AC outlets are worth it. They are a push fit, but one has come out twice in a year, so I just used a spot of glue to hold it this time.
