Alarm temporarily disable - Ferry mode

Featured Replies

I’ll soon be taking my Octavia iV (2023) on a Ferry crossing. I’ve been advised to disable its alarm in case the rocking motion sets it off.
How do I lock but disable the alarm for the trip?
Some call it ‘Ferry Mode’.

Thanks in advance!

According to the manual I got with my car... "By double locking within 2 seconds."

You should also be able to disable it from the touchscreen in the car too under opening and closing settings.  But beware that only works for the next locking cycle, as soon as it's unlocked it reset and you'd need to untick the box in settings again.

Yes that's what I did when I recently took my car over to France. It's a bit misleading that it's labelled 'interior monitoring' in my opinion - it's more about ignoring external movement really.

I use it regularly whenever I leave the dog in the car with the windows open an inch.  Sometimes it is already disabled, sometimes I have to disable it.  I have yet to work out the logic.  I'm sure it disables the internal ultrasonic movement detectors, but I'm not sure what else it affects.

A Motion Sensor,

not just for ferries, For Transportation, delivery, recovery, theft buy lifting it onto something.
