Hi just wondering if anyone has used one of these cables to permanently disable the start stop feature? I connected it but the start stop light flashes even when engine off and car locked? I vaguely remember someone saying similar in one of the forums but can’t find it. Thanks. 

I have used one. No problems. All it does is remember the setting at switch off. But there are probably multiple versions of these little things. Are you sure the connectors were properly clicked in both ends? Run a scan?

Thanks, yes checked connections several time, no worries I will use Vcds to sort it.

Every now and then, usually after the flipping thing has stalled the engine for me unexpectedly, I get a renewed urge to fit one of these.

It would be nice to know which ones are the best/most reliable, and which cause problems.

I've installed one in mine as well. Mine works 99% of the time, but that one odd time it remains in auto-off.

 

It's a cheap little thingie so 99% is ok in my book.

Hello, I've been using Ali cable in Skoda Scala since half year. When you turn engine off and lock car, does button indicator stays on (light) for a while or turn off immidietly? Im wondering could that cable works (using power) when car is off.

That’s the problem I had, the light was flashing all the time. So just removed it and sent the cable back, not worth the risk of using power up.

In my case it is not flashing but I noticed today that after stop ignition and close car s/s indicator stays on, I wait a white and then open and close car again, at second time it turns off immidietly.

If you had a non-FL (2013-2016) car, you can code out auto-stop-start.

I know that this mod was not available on FL (2017-2020) cars though.....

After reset the device it's ok for now, maybe something stuck once, now it works ok, light indicator turns off after lock the car.

It is a constant irritation having to reset the stop / start .

I rarely use the system, occasionally usefull in  Traffic jams, but I prefer to be in neutral and hand brake on ,rather than in gear and clutch or footbrake

What do you mean ? I ment alixxxxxx cable that I bought and connect beetwen s/s button and oryginal car cable socket, this cable press s/s off button after turn ignition on automaticly.

I bought one of Ali doo dah, less than a tenner and works perfectly.

I had replace cable to a new one, now works as it should be. Of course seller won't send money back, but alixxxx do the job and refund all cost.

I'm thinking of doing this mod as well. What is the process to remove the stop/start button? Do you to remove the whole centre panel?

Hi, you only need to remove button bezel and place cable into small space under it.
