Mk3 cornering lights mounting

Featured Replies

Hi just had a pheasant bounce of the bumper and it looks like it has pushed the cornering light of its clips.

nothing broken from the outside.
Is this easy to access to hopefully just clip back in.

any help or advice appreciated thanks.

Hey!

I had to replace one of the cornering lights due to condensation on my Superb. Basically you have 3 options:
1. Remove that piece of grille that surrounds the fog lamp and try to adjust it this way -> best option, but I could not done that, was IMPOSSIBLE to take out that piece of grille without breaking it since... well... it's plastic...

2. Remove the whole front bumper and you get full access to the fog lamp -> might involve too much effort, not recommended in my opinion!

3. Remove the wheel + wheel hull and access the fog lamp from behind ( you'll need an elevator for that ) -> you'll have enough access to replace or adjust the fog lamp with minimal effort in my opinion.

Good luck!

cheers mate think i will try the wheel arch liner removal.

You have to get the grille off, the foglight is held by four screws screwed in from the front.

just found the part number and picture. so its held in with 4 lugs and screws from the rear. looks like I'm going to have to order a new one . ill look first.

The black honeycomb pattern grille pulls out leaving the light behind and revealing the screws. There should be a wire tool with a hook on the end in the boot for this purpose.

That might be the best option, however that grille was very difficult to be pulled out at least in my case, and that plastic can snap if it bends too much. I would recommend option nr. 3 on my list from prev comment if OP is struggling with the grille.

yes I'm going to try from the wheel arch but if the clips have broken on the light and i need to install a new one i may have to try the front grill.

probably get a new grill also ready in case it breaks removing it.

thanks

Good luck, in my case, the impact of the pheasant ejected the grille!

You might be able to push the grille out from behind with less risk of it breaking.

Don't waste your money on aftermarket grilles, very poor fit and flaky chrome.

Ok thanks. I’ll get genuine I don’t have Chrome on mine it’s black. That’s just an internet picture for reference.
