(Monte Carlo) Rear bumper replacement. Parking sensor query

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've just had a rear bumper replacement on my 2017 Fabia (Monte Carlo trim) and looking for someone who owns or has experience with them!

I can't remember 100%, and have no photos, but I remember the bumper having 4 sensors. The replacement one has 3.

Previously, when reversing, on the car screen, the rear sensors would show 4 angles. 2 side angles, and 2 straight back. Now, the 2 side angles don't seem to be working at all, and the middle is giving strange reasons.

Before I go back to the shop, I wanted to be sure of the difference. Could I be wrong, and the old one only had 3 sensors, and they may only need adjusting now?

Grateful for any help!

My 2016 Fabia III only has three rear parking sensors.

Thanks. AG Falco

Thanks for your reply AG! That's great, when you're reversing, do you get info from the side angles, as well as the back? On my reverse sensors, only the 2 back ones are showing on screen, not the 2 smaller side angles. Is this normal?

Looks like this with nothing behind me.

My wife's 2015 is the same as AGFalco has put.

Try reversing closer, square on, to a wide wall or something to check the four zones light up.

Just using the reversing sensors to reverse isn't a good idea, I can guarantee you that from experience of such stupidity.

Thanks AGFalco! I thought the side sensors activated sooner. It looks to be working OK!

Just seen, I meant my stupidity by relying on them when I was reversing my mate's van into my mate's 6-month old expensive Jag),  thought the sensors were bleeping because of the cars at the side and had forgot and didn't look behind.
