AutoGlass repaired Windscreen chip on Insurance - Repair Failed - Warranty?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

As above really. Got a chip on my windscreen a few months back and AutoGlass filled the chip. I went for this as I wanted to keep the OEM Skoda heated windscreen.

Came back from a week long holiday to find the chip has expanded into three smaller cracks about 4 inches long each.

Has anyone had to go back to AutoGlass before about this? Their website says they warranty the work done for as long as you have the car.

Considering it probably means a new screen - will I give my insurance company a heads up so it isn't treated as a new claim?

Gutted as wanted to keep the Skoda screen and doubt they'll provide an actual manufacturer's one.

Yes, speak to AutoGlass and your insurer and tell them that the previous repair failed. It should be covered under AutoGlass's warranty.
