Sat-Nav Maps Latest Version?

Featured Replies

you could try an OTA update. In the UK you can sign up for a 1 month trial of the online service and it is free if you then cancel it. If this is available to you then you could sign up to the navigation service and see if that will update your maps. You could then cancel after 1 week.

The problem it's I'm already subscribed for 3months. I got another updates for other systems but not for maps or navigation. Crazy.

I'm pretty sure the problem it's the German software or SIM. Maybe it detects it's in another country and it doesn't update a big update.

I bought this car from Germany and know it's in Spain.

For this reason I think the only way it's dealership.

Ok if you are having trouble on the Skoda site go here and just pick a similar model EG a Tiguan works and get the right MMI and download the latest map They are both the same just the file name is different. I have been swapping on them for years , depending on who gets the map version out first . Also you dont need a VIN on the VW site

Look at the picture I posted After you download the file You open it and copy and paste the contents to the root of a USB C stick which should be formatted in Ex Fat You arent by any chance using a DEVILS SPAWN MAC ARE YOU because if you are it wont work Also the dealer will charge for the time it takes to install the maps because they are provided free for owners to do it.. Guess how I know LOL

It works fine from a Mac. I’ve updated over several years with the files on a Mac transferred to a USB stick. Just needs an empty drive, use freeware Cleanmydrive if you need to to ensure no extraneous files. The crucial factor is often the USB drive, some just don’t work, no idea why

Seeing as it's my post originally I'm going to put this question out there......

Is there a way to put forward updates for the maps? I say this as whenever i set a route from home the sat-nav always wants me to go down what has as far as i'm aware has always been a footpath including a section which is steps!!!! We've been in the house for 25 years now and it's been a footpath for as long as we've been here hence me saying it's always been a footpath to my knowledge. I always ignore the sat-nav for the first instruction out of our cul-de-sac and it then changes to the route you should take to get out of our area etc....

So is there a way you can send a request to have it updated..... Or is there a way you can add a block to what it thinks is a road? I looked at the Traffication options but nothing for something like this is available in that app.

Havent done it for ages but there is a setup which allows you to change what routes it uses Eg no ferries or gravel roads. no toll roads etc. Maybe if you go in there will be a suitable option

Yeah Im aware of that but most arent and end up with all the crap that a Mac puts on the drive with the files. Some have even had problems doing what you say but good for you to get it done. Yes have had trouble with some micro Sd cards and adapters but have a 256Gb USB C stick with 1200 music tracks on it and I just load the Map stuff into the root and 40 mins later all is good. This despite an " IT expert " on a VW Forum saying it wont work like that. Well it has since 2019 anyway LOL

Unfortunately not. I already have things like that set with it being a vRS it's not willingly going to be driven down gravel tracks etc.... D

For whatever reason it sees the footpath as a normal road.

It looks like the actual map data is provided by HERE. Skoda appear to have an mechanism to correct map errors via the Map Creator - see the following page from the Skoda website.

Yes unfortunately they are not perfect as found by 2 tourists in Brisbane who drove into the water because Satnav said drive this way to Stradbroke ISLAND. You would have thought there was a clue there wouldnt you LOL
