I have the Infotainment Online service which obviously includes the auto download of maps for the sat-nav with my MY22 vRS. Since I got the car last year I'd always noticed the maps were always within a couple of months at most of the current date but I noticed yesterday that they are currently from January 25 so not updated for 3 months now. Is this what others have got or have there been updates since and for some reason mine isn't downloading them?

One thing that does come to mind is that the Infotainment updated to 1985 in January so I'm hoping it's not linked to that and just that they haven't issued any updates for a few months.

Mine still has maps dated 25.1, so January.

S/W version is 1941 which means it’s not to do with your s/w update.

I previous years I seem to recall a May release of mapping; we’ll see…

Maps 25.5 were pushed about 2 weeks ago on my car.

For those without the online service, downloadable maps were updated in the last few days to week 27 of 2025 ie CW 27/2025

I’ve tried five separate times this month to download this 29 Gb file (which takes between 1-2 hours) and all goes well until it reaches about 22 Gb downloaded, at which point it kicks me out and won’t let me restart from the point it cut off. Very frustrating!

As you have to pay for it now if you're doing OTA, I don't bother I find Waze is far superior to the built-in system by a long way, even a Garmin or Tom Tom PND is better.

There were two updates to the maps in quick succession. The maps stayed on 25.1 until end of May, and then I noticed it had upgraded to 25.5, and then a few weeks later updated again to 25.6:

Any thoughts on the minimum specification for the memory stick to transfer the download files off the laptop? I tried with a cheap/old USB stick with a USB3 adapter and it said it would take 2 days!

You can use an USB-A key with adaptor, it works fine.

I used a USB drive and left it in while driving. I finished the trip and after 4 hours, nothing had been updated. All unzipped folders are in the root of the USB drive. Is there anything else I need to do?

Maps version 25.7 today.

A USB memory stick and a USB drive work in different ways. You need to use a memory stick for this update.

USB disks have a higher power requirement than USB memory sticks so there might not have been sufficient power.

You can test this by copying some music onto the root of the USB drive and seeing if it can be played.

I have used a Micro SD 128gb with a connector, but it doesn't be updated. I have plugged it for a long travel (3h) and when I have checked the version, it was the same.

I will leave it plugged the next days

A couple of ideas:

Are you using one of the 2 USB C sockets in front of the gear selector?

If you copy a song onto the root of the SD card can you play it? This will determine if the infotainment system can read the SD card.

Try this as in Australia is the only way to do it and it works Probably need a larger capacity stick for European maps

HERE ARE THE DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATING MAPS First go to settings system information and check your map details Will probably be 24.6 or 24.12. Go to the Skoda portal and download the map for your model to a HDD and unzip it to a folder DO NOT USE A MAC DO NOT USE A MAC. Format a 32GB USB C stick in exfat and put it in computer and copy the CONTENTS of the unzipped folder to the Stick. NOT THE WHOLE FOLDER Copy and paste the CONTENTS only. Put it in the car and wait for about 40 mins . Nothing will appear to happen.. after an hour or so check the map version as before. Latest AUS map is 25.2 FEBRUARY MAP released in MAY . Take stick out all done. It doesnt have to be in one go My wife went to shops which are only1 K away , came home went out again in afternoon and it updated ok as just resumes from where turned off.. Map iterations are Year and month EG 24.6 then 24.12 Not like programs which go 2.1 2.5 etc. Been doing it for 6 years without problems. Here is what you should have on the Stick

If I put a song in the root folder I can play it.

I'll probably take the car to the dealership

So we know that the infotainment c=system can read the memory card but I am now out of ideas as mine updates after about 30 minutes of driving.

Look at the picture I posted After you download the file You open it and copy and paste the contents to the root of a USB C stick which should be formatted in Ex Fat You arent by any chance using a DEVILS SPAWN MAC ARE YOU because if you are it wont work Also the dealer will charge for the time it takes to install the maps because they are provided free for owners to do it.. Guess how I know LOL

You can also get the map from the VW site and just pick a car from similar year and you dont need a VIN like on the SKODA portal I use a 21 Tiguan Is taking 1 hr 40 mins to download Europe

I had the same problem - I think the original maps had never been updated and it refused to update from an SD Card or OTA despite having the relevant subscription. In the end I got and infotainment system and maps updated by the dealer just before the warranty ran out and it seems to have been updating OTA regularly since then.
