Skoda App maps not sending routes to car

Featured Replies

Škoda Karoq SE L 2024 Amundsen MIB3(?)

I have been sending routes from the Škoda App on my phone

Been using it for about 5 months. Last worked about 2 weeks ago. Tried last night and again today and the app still says "sent to car" but it never arrives.

Based in Midlands, UK if that makes any difference?
All other information re traffic is updated dynamically.

I didn't renew when they dropped the web interface.

I never found the app intuitive. I liked sending destinations. The way I found to do that was use the app, create a route then send the route to which it said something along the lines of "I can only send the destination"

It always felt a little hit and miss.

NW England.

Thanks. I am paid up until some time in 2026, but I wondered if anyone else had the app suddenly stop sending routes to the car… then again there has been a lot of cyber warfare going on of late. IT could be VAG servers that have had problems.

I note a recent Seat question along similar lines. Pending an answer to whether it's a country based issue. Don't have mib3 so pass.

I am assuming a glitch with the app somewhere, there have been a couple of updates for it OTOH there have been a lot of Cyberattacks on corporate systems of late.

It could be one of those early things they drop 🫢. You do need something like that so it's a bit of an omission if it's been dropped.

I don't think, so the App said "route sent to car" but unlike normal nothing arrived at the car.

I'm getting exactly the same issue - app says "Sent to car" but nothing ever arrives. Don't know when it stopped working, but certainly it hasn't worked for the last couple of weeks. Used to use it fairly regularly, wife found it easier to find destination on phone rather than getting finger-jolts entering it onto the screen.

I updated the app last night to 8.2.0, still the same. Can lock the car, flash etc so the app is communicating to the car.

I've opened an issue with Skoda support. For info, I've a 2023 Kodiak 2.0 SEL and am based in the North West (near Stockport).

You have proper roads that far north?

I suspect it is a glitch in updates and or the problems around the current cyberwarefare. There is a lot going on but not all in the news.

I like to look at routes on a decent size 24" computer screen at my desk and then put the into the phone and then transfer to the car when we go. Much easier than sitting in the car faffing about with constant "why aren't we moving?" in my ear

Mine is a 2024 Karoq 1.5 TSI SE L in the midlands.

It's the cobbles that make it hard to enter onto the screen!

I've cross fed it to the SeatCupra board where I spotted it had come up.

Yeah well 5 years is a long time in VAG lifecycle 🤔.

I use this on MIB2 but requires poi import which you aren't allowed.... you might be able to manufacture contact photos with a grid reference for mib3 use ?. Probably someone might have done it... dunno.

With POInspector you turn your MIB2 standard or high into a conventional GPS system. Works well. Fiddly to set up, but once done. Save your POIs as destinations an old Skoda trick, so I was told. Then just pick up the destinations. I've got 200+ in Mib2, but no good for you Mib3 folk. I'm sticking with MIB2 till Mib5 😍.

One thing to try if you haven't already is to clear the cache if Android. Failing that clear the data, but you'll need to login again. Poorly written programs refer to the same area of memory but a revision of the program without the programmer thinking about it, it's all change on the read of the data so doesn't work. Worth a try.

Other suggestion is the one I use for find x,y coordinates to enter in mib2. It will work with mib3.

N45,N25:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sands.mapCoordinates.android&hl=en

Transcription involved but it does allow you to store in the app locations and street walk. Suspect for the street walk you need to keep open / load up the old street view app.

Example:

Supports the construction of a range of coordinate systems. Mib2 was the DMS (first one), third conventional decimal degrees.

Mib3 does import X,Y coordinates which is easier than fumbling with the map unit in the car.

Swiss army knife for coordinates.

Just an idea to tide you over.

Tried clearing the cache, still no joy. Next step is clear the data as you suggested - but first need to ensure that I still know the password!

I too have the same issue, I updated the app to 8.2.0. I know it was working at the end of March, it’s my preferred method of entering destinations as it’s much easier than the infotainment keyboard entry. My Karoq was serviced at the end of March and had the s/w update for the Kessy system that prevents locking w keys in the car. I can’t see how this would affect it. I ve assumed that the app communicates with a VAG server which in turn talks to the car. Somewhere in the app documentation it said only one route can be sent to the car at a time, each route sent has to be accepted and saved on the car before sending another route.

The Nav app in the car seems to be getting traffic information in realtime perfectly.

I have also raised this Škoda UK customer care, as I can see their office in MK from my home it’s very tempting to progress it face to face.

Can confirm that clearing data also has no effect.

So just on the off-chance, I gave it another go this afternoon - it WORKED! Tried again a hour or so later - STILL WORKING!

I haven't done anything to settings on my phone or the car. It was successful with the engine running as it was sent, then again later when the car was parked - the route arrived as soon as the satnav started.

So hopefully the issue, whatever/wherever it was is fixed. Watch this space....

Still not working for me. :-(

I will try again tomorrow.

I have an iPhone and the app has been updated a couple of times recently.
the car is a 2024 Karoq SE L 1.5 TSI

Its now working for me using V 8.2.0 on an Iphone.

I'm having exactly the same issue, I'm on Android using app version 8.2.0 and since the update nothing has been arriving in the car.

I have also opened a case with Skoda support online.

Hopefully like others have found it will start working again as I use this feature extensively.

Someone mentioned an 8.3.0 for Android. 8.2.0 is the latest on iPhone.

I have 25.1 Maps and it didn't work this morning.

I am hoping that very soon it will work. I thing as mentioned elsewhere it is a back end server update problem and getting them all synced.

I'm also on 25.1 maps in the car.

Had a look for app version 8.3.0 but can't find it, the app was last updated 23rd April.

Mine is working again happy. Using Samsung Galaxy with app version 8.2.0

Looks like something took a while to update at the server end but all good now - until the next update!

Likewise, mine started working correctly this afternoon.

No explanation from Škoda. Which is disappointing.

Poor QA. Then they probably tested it again before releasing the fix. 🫣
