Disabling car alarm

Featured Replies

Hi, I am going away in the Octavia next week with the possibility of staying in it overnight if need be. However, I want to disable the alarms so if we knock it it won't go off. I have seen videos of a button that disable it on MK2 onwards but I could not see anything for mk1s. Ideally I would like to fully disable it.

I have disabled internal monitoring with vcds but that doesn't prevent it going off if knocked to much.

I don't know if it helps or makes it harder but it is a very late model 2008 I know they continued with them for a while for taxis and tradesmen so don't know if it has any newer alarm system.

Currently my only option is disconnecting the battery.

Think the button on the MK2 only disables interior sensors in case you have a dog etc. I think the only way to disable is to disconnect battery. Make sure the manual door lock works before hand. Have come accross a few that are seized through lack of use.
