Timing Belt interval on 1.4 TSI ACT CZEA engine

Featured Replies

I have a Superb 3 with the engine mentioned above, 1.4 TSI ACT CZEA with 80k mileage and 7 years of use.

I'm interested what's the changing interval in km or years ?

I found out that there is no time limit only a mileage limit by 230.000 km but I wonder if it is fine not changing the belt with no time limit or a decent mileage limit ?

Thanks!

they say no limit. i will change it on 150000 kms or 10 yrs..

It depends in what climate you are using your car. In Estonia, reccomendation is 210 000 km or 5 years.

I might be doing mine in the next year or 2. Currently on 75k (miles) and 7yrs.

The recent change from whatever it was (70k and 5 year?) gives confidence that they are capable of holding out a bit. Id say 100k (160k km) would be my limit. Age is up to you but 10 years seems a good limit too.

Note I say "limit". Depending on your usage (anything other than pootling round town with stop-start off) can remove life from the running parts.

There is a little bit of contrast 210k vs 5y.

Even in the old days the first change would take place at 6 years.

Do you have such harsh conditions ?

I agree that at 10y without the mileage it is a good time to change it.

I'll do it than.

Thank you, all!

That information came from my main dealer. But yes, we have up-to -30 in winter and +30 in summer.
