Any thoughts before I call Octopus again ?

Hi Scott,

Apologies for the late response, how are you getting on with your charging?

I have suffered with all of your issues but once IOG was linked to the car have not had any problems.

This is my process:

Ensure all schedules are deleted in the car and the Hypervolt.

Set up a home charging location in the car and make sure you have not enabled privacy mode and are sharing the location data.

Set car to not unlock cable after charging. Also check you have a cellular connection in the car at your charging location.

  1. Unlock HV3 and ensure it’s set to plug and charge

  2. Set car to charge immediately

  3. Plug the Elroq in and wait for the green light

  4. Reach in to the car and pause the charge on the infotainment screen (note don’t sit in or put weight on the seat

  5. Open the Octopus app and devices tab, car should now show as plugged in (but can take a few minutes to display and create a schedule). Refreshing the page by pulling down the phone screen can help.

  6. Lock car and walk away. Don’t open the MyŚkoda or HV app during the charging.

I find the above works well for me and hopefully this will help if you are having trouble?

HI Steve,

A wee update as of last night, I have had my second successful IOG charge, including a schedule with multiple stops and starts.

I stood out one night and watched exactly what happened when the charges failed. What brought about success for me was the following in the Hypervolt app, settings, charger settings : Random start disabled.

now I have the Elroq vRS connected to Octopus IOG as an Elroq 85 24

Hypervolt Pro in plug and charge mode, which happened automatically for me when I deleted it from the Octopus app.

Set up required charge to amount in Octopus app

I have noticed that when I plug in the car, the car will start to charge immediately (saw your workaround to that), so far, I have just left it charging.

The Octopus app doesn't see the car as plugged in for roughly 3 - 4 minutes, but does eventually 'sense' the car.

I believe once the car is seen by the Octopus app the car stops the immediate charging.

Then a few minutes later, the schedule eventually appears.

Car charges as necessary with stops and starts and changes as per the IOG schedule.

To summarize, I removed the Hypervolt from the Octopus app added the Elroq 85 24, disabled Random start in the Hypervolt 3 pro app and added the Generic 7Kwh charger in theOctopus app.

fingers crossed it continues to work (albeit with a few extra minutes at 28p)

Appreciate all the help

Scott

@skier1066 Ah I forgot about the HV random start, mine was already disabled from new but had read elsewhere that it confused IOG. I gather it’s there by UK legislation and may be a requirement to be enabled in the future, though IOG does this itself currently and also throttles charge power to balance the grid.

Glad you are now charging successfully, now enjoy your lovely vRS
