DSG problems

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, new here :). So about a month ago I bought a used Skoda Mk2 2007. 6-speed DSG, 1.9 TDI for 1.8k. After 2 weeks my trans started to act up. When I floor it, the car shudders for a bit, smooth shifts etc. happen and the shudder goes away. Mechanic said it is really from the transmission, but doesn’t know what. After a few days, I was driving casually when all of a sudden my Skoda went into limp mode. First gear, PRNDS flashing and no reverse. Limped it to my mechanic, next day he scanned the codes and said this: P1707 and P0756. One is for mechatronic unit and second was for solenoid 2, but what was weird—the car went out of limp mode itself. Drove it for a while and again P0756, but no P1707. Talked to mechanic, he said that worst case scenario, the brains of the trans are cooked. Has someone had similar problem? If it turns out to be the mech, then mechanic said it wouldn’t be wise to repair since it would cost in parts and labor 1.2k, maybe less. He said that he will take the car to a mechanic that deals with DSG and will tell me later what is the problem. But as I said, maybe someone had a similar problem and it turned out to be something simple.
