This MIB3.5 in mk4fl, different than MIB3, which this thread is about. MIB3.5 has OTA (over the air) update. No need to update manually with usb drive

I’m on version 1941 (updated manually by usb a while ago). Have been waiting for 1985 or 1989 to prompt OTA but still nothing. Is it any idea to update to 1989 manually by usb? What are the benefits and differences?

It is smoother then the old versions. Graphic is better. It works and runs faster is my opinion

Are people not still experiencing issues with it though? I stuck with 1985 due to the problems it seemed to be causing when it was released

Faster boot up would be nice! Otherwise 1941 works OK actually. Is it recommended to go for 1985 or 1989? I suppose I have to upgrade manually via usb with the benefit of choosing.

Ever heard the phrase "if it's not broke, don't fix it" ?

Hence my first question. Maybe stick with 1941 but a faster system would be nice. Heard norhing bad about 1985 so might go for that.

Hello! I’m new to this.. I bought this Octavia PHEV 2021 and it has software 1803. I downloaded from this forum your zip for 1989. Can I update it using USB directly? I heard that I have to update to other older versions before this one. Is it right? And which versions exactly and where can I find them? Thank you in advance!

Unpack the software on a formatted usb stick copy the two files only on the stick. Put in in the car and follow the options on your screen. Leave ignition on and keep it on. Or let motor running. Takes around 30 a 40 min.

Does it work from 1803 straight to 1989?

Thank you sincerely as I managed to update the unit very smoothly!

In my case, after the update, the major problem is the eManager app not working anymore (I have a 2021 PHEV Octavia), and therefore it’s stuck on “Reduced charging current” mode, meaning that it takes about 8hrs to fully charge instead of 5.

Maybe a reset will help. Only thing that you must become headuser again. After reset. Maybe then it will install all apps again.

The factory reset was the first thing I did after the update, so I don’t thing it works, since The Columbus MIB3 infotainment unit in PHEV/ iV Octavias has the e-Manager (for charging timers, preconditioning, battery limits, etc.) activated via specific long coding in the infotainment module (usually address 5F). The 1989 update (a performance/stability release that also improves things like SmartLink/CarPlay/Android Auto) overwrites the firmware and resets or deactivates that PHEV-specific coding.
