Would you welcome a Co-Star?? 😂

Absolutely!! My wife doesn’t want me to audition but let George Clooney play me ! I don’t if that is a compliment or a slur - I’ve looked at myself in the mirror now I know which one it is

Hi all,

we are experiencing exactly the same problem with our Karoq 2023 1.5 TSI. It has been with dealer several times but diagnostics say no fault found however they have changed stop start relay but it hasn't fixed the issue.

We are currently dealing with Skoda UK executive office and reported to Ombudsman but we aren't hopeful of a resolution. Has anyone got any experience of arranging a mass action against them for them to take notice? Skoda deny they have had any other reports of same issue but they are clearly lying.

This is a widely reported issue across all VAG models using the 1.5TSI!

I would have thought a Global company like VAG would value their Brand Reputation more and invest time and effort into a remedy for this issue which seems to affect some but not all users!

Cynically for a company that spawned “Dieselgate” should we be surprised!

Ford America famously ignored evidence their Pinto car could become a fireball if rear ended as their Accountants argued it would cost less in litigation for dead people than to reengineer the car!

Idiots!

This “fault” can be a minor irritant when you expect it but heaven forbid a new inexperienced or unwary driver has no power when entering a fast moving stream of traffic! The consequences could be catastrophic and even fatal!

This is the sort of thing TV like “Watchdog” used to champion!

Are VAG subject to Freedom of Information requests to extract numbers of cases! I expect many more users are suffering in silence realising it’s a waste of time bothering to pester dealer! This is not going away!!

Totally agree I still have my old Passat which was part of Dieselgate - I got £1700 back on that, but it took years. The engine is brilliant even at 110 k on the clock it will I have no doubt outlast many new VAG engines.

I think we would need to get a group together to properly establish the faults and then get technical proof of those faults, through independent testing. Then approach a legal team to take it on. Dieselgate IIRC had a funder. I believe the UK consumer laws are not as strict as other countries.

The Ford Pinto issue would have cost around $1 to resolve per car!! Unbelievable!

I’m not as technical as others on this forum, so don’t know quite whether the 1.5 tsi issue is down to software, basic design, or a combination. Until you can nail that down 100% I can see why Škoda et al are hiding behind comments like “characteristic of the engine” etc

I stand corrected if anyone does know the exact cause of the issue

The Kangerooing issue 2018 / 2019 with 1.5 TSI ACT,s because VW / Skoda had to 'manipulate' the Software / Engine management to get the WLTP Certification is well covered in threads on here.

The members first reporting issues, those were told 'They all do that', then eventually the Service Campaign, the DVLA safety Critical recall due to the Lack of Torque.

Sadly some traded in cars, lost money, and even after the Engine Management Update still had issues.

So get your reports into the DVLA over the cars behaviour if you think unsafe.

VW will persuade the DfT / DVLA that are doing something, just vas they did with DQ200,s when the UK / EU was not part of a Global Recall.
