1. I have never been around a track.

2. I am confident I'd win BUT if by some odd reason I don't I would need to pay nearly £200.

3. I can't spare £200.

Do you understand?

correct.

There is a great search facility on here :P

Thirdplace/Mil - how does the 2.0 compare with a standard Fabia VRS ?

You being real here Phil?

A Fabia 2.0 will not have a hard time with a standard Fabia vRS, as long as it is in the right gear. The 2.0 has much wider rev band and is a significantly lighter car than the vRS. On a straight, there won't be much of the difference between the two. The vRS will definitely feel much faster with all the torque it has to offer, but in reality, they won't be far off.

On a corner, the 2.0 may wallow a bit more than the vRS, but the vRS is only 15mm lower than a stock Fabia. Not much of a difference, and they are not stiff springs, only lower. As long as the 2.0 is in the right gear, it would keep up with and highly possibly even beat the vRS standard.

As I've already experienced, what I like about turbodiesels is the high amount of torque it has to offer and therefore you don't frequently need to change gears. I've had a 90bhp turbodiesel Octavia for a while, and a lot of the time I usually stuck to third gear, even at 30 km/h.

But performance wise, what with the narrow rev band and the similar power ratings and large difference in weight, the 2.0 would take on a standard vRS any day Phil.

1. If you lie about your cars power then its not the same "book"

2. I am not a fool. At least I did not reduce myself to insalting people I don't know. ;)

3. Agreed

4. I was - on the road. I cant afford a track day.

so Mr Goochie when you going to race me in your 350Z

I test drove one the other day and it felt really slow

My Fabia felt loads quicker So I must be able to kick your arce round any track of Straight :P

mil-serious question-do you think your car is the bees knees around corners?

a book can be about death but have a nice flowery bright cover-it would still be the same book.

Nothing to do with that. You're mocking me. My car is slower than a modified GT Mustang too. But when it comes to the corners' date=' the whole 'American cars don't handle' line doesn't come to play right? Only when it suits you guys do you use that line, but the little black cockroach I have can take it out in no way on a corner, according to you lot.

Have you heard of the Chevy Lumina SS? It's also an American muscle car, which we have a plenty here, with over 350bhp and 0-100 in about 5.5 seconds. Weighs about as much as a Mustang, and it handles like 'a bag of spanners'.

Wise guy.[/quote']

well said.. and i support saying that american cars handle like Sh!t.. trust me u guys may not have many american cars like we do here .. most of the american cheape muscle cars handle like very badly

What I mean is:

He says he has 68 bhp when he has close to 100bhp (aparently) That is like saying my car is a 1.4 16v when its not.

Giving me false information.

Even though I'd blatently wipe the floor with it.

Ok if we are not Lying about are engines then my car is a standard VRS that must have some majic tuning as I got figures of nearly 140bhp at the wheels making the engine about 160bhp and thats from a standard un modded fabia that should have 130bhp :D

When am I gonna kick your Slow 2.0 arce :P

When am I gonna kick your Slow 2.0 arce :P

M40 Junction 6 my good man...

Be my guest.. I'll even make you a cup of tea ;)

and peadophiles say they are 20 and muscular yet they are 60 and fat-they are still the same person. dosent matter how they describe themselves. johns car is still the same car-no matter how he describes it!

Chris told me you'd taken one out, but you're forgetting your Fbaia has 30bhp more than it should have  Its all down to the power delivery. Octy VRS II is the same. Smooth power delievery = les "feeling" of speed.

I can spin the rear wheel in the dry, changing from 1st to second and 2nd to third. Considering the tyre width - could your fabia do that ? ;)

Serious answer Lorna, in fact I think it is.

I give up I really do. You are missing the point.

I'm not lieing about my cars specs and mods. I tell the whole story.

He does not.

So I don't knwo where I stand. (how fast it is)

How about this

http://www.motorsport-events.co.uk/track_day_calendar.htm September 29 th at Hullavington.

Its near Castle Coombe then I can observe & my friend with the twin Turbo 350Z can also observe. We are both obviously toooo slow to go out with you quick guys

Can i come and race too? I've only got 145lb/ft of torque.... :(

This thread is awesome!

I answered your question Phil. Above.

Ben, she's basically telling you his car is what it is.

He says he has 68 bhp when he has close to 100bhp (aparently)

Apparently it's close to some other numbers, as well :D

Anyway, I've never suggested I race anyone in my car. I was going to bring the work horse.
