Best Windscreen Wipers for Fabia

Featured Replies

Hi all

Does anyone know the best brands of replacement windscreen wipers please?

I have a 1.2 TSi Special Edition 2016 and the front passenger side wiper has split. Skoda here in France charges 25€ + tva + fitting for one.

I'm sure I could do it myself for less.

The brands I've seen here are: Amio, Ridex, Maxgear, Stark and Hegner

I'm not sure which brand is an original Skoda piece but hopefully one of these.

Don't want the incessant squeak.

Sorry if there's already a topic for this. I searched a lot before posting.

Thanks

Are Bosch wiper blades available, I always fit Bosch blades and most Karoq owners also recommend Bosch.

Bosch wipers for me as well.

Thanks. AG Falco

Bosch are alright, I couldn't get the specific ones so general size but they're fine. I think, but might be wrong there were/are counterfeits about on the old internet so buy from a reliable source.

Don't forget you have to put the wiper arms in the annoying "service" position to fit the blades comfortably (instructions on how to set to annoying "service" position are in the car's 'Owner's Manual'.

I have always replaced with Bosch aero twin except the last time when I used some Lucas replacements but these do not seem as good although cheaper - false economy I'm afraid!

Thank you. I ordered some from Amazon and they arrived this afternoon. They were in a sealed box. I checked authenticity using the QR code, so all seems good

Thank you for the mention of the instructions in the manual. I read those.

The Bosch wipers seem genuine and my car is listed on the box. I put my reg in on the Bosch spare parts site for the correct size and ordered them from Amazon.

Not my finest moment...

Thanks to everyone who helped. Much appreciated!

+1 for Bosch aero twins

I use bosch normally but during winter tend to go for a cheap set if I have to change them as the salt/grit/ice destroys them Last set that I fitted was from Lidl and reckon there as good as bosch but a lot cheaper. Been on my octavia for over a year and just starting to smear a bit but still no squeeks etc. Waiting till they have them in again and at £8-99 I usually buy two sets

The ones I ordered and got for my wife's Mk3 are Aerotwin for front and Bosch non-aerotwin at rear, been on 9 months now and still fine AFAIK. I don't know what the VWŠkoda rear wiper blade make actually is but it was a slightly better fit to arm than the Bosch non-aerotwin but nothing to worry about and IIRC the Bosch non-aerotwin is a better fit than the Halford's own rear blade.

I've used Bosch and now Valeo wipers. We were told Valeo last longer than Bosch, but can't confirm it ourselves as never note down when they are changed.

The last time that I replaced the front and rear wiper blades on my wife's 2015 VW Polo, I bought a Bosch "correct parts" or set for the front wipers, and ended up finding that it was cheapest to buy the rear Valeo wiper blade from Valeo directly - which surprised me!
