Warranty period for add on items installed by dealer

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought my car from new and specified various items, tow bar, dashcam etc. The dashcam has stopped working 2 years from new. I have checked the dashcam itself in my wife's car( Exactly the same model) and it works. I changed the fuse , and without the dashcam attached , it blew straightaway. I know the camera only has a 12 month warranty, but should the dealer fix the wiring if that is at fault?

Cheers,

Paul

Ps, whilst I am here, I had a yeti for 10 years and the gearbox was flawless, with the new karoq I find the gearbox very notchy , and a few times it hasn't properly gone into gear ,any one else had any issues?

Have you asked their Service Manager or Dealer Principle if they will? Did they do the wiring in-house or do they use a Contractor to hard wire Sat-navs and towbars / lights?

What happens if you replace the fuse without the dashcam connected and switch on? If it still blows it would seem to indicate a wiring short.
