Just bought my Octavia Estate mk4 (2022) - and ideally want a full size spare in the back. I've measured up and looks like it will only just fit. Can anyone confirm that they've done this, and it doesn't lift the boot floor up for being too deep?

I've got a space saver spare wheel, which, along with the polystyrene tray which holds the jack and wheel brace, only just fits perfectly underneath the boot floor. Not sure a full sized wheel would fit tbh, as I did consider doing this myself originally

Is it a full sized wheel though? Or space saver which most spares are these days...

I have the ‘official’ spare for my 2020 (70 plate estate); it is a 16” wheel (17” alloys fitted as road wheels) but branded ‘space saver’ and marked max 80kph/50mph - despite being a 205 width tyre. 🙄

Does provide the reassurance though - I bought it after a puncture in a small village in the middle of nowhere France four years ago. Not had a puncture since 😂😂

Hello, I have a 2022 RS and I added a normal 17-inch rim, the floor sits against the road without causing any problems.

My 2024 mk4 pre-FL came with 17" wheels but no spare tyre, just the goo/compressor malarkey. I replaced it with a 16" rim and tyre. This fits with spare room, no issue.

Same question from me too.Recently started a topic about this but it petered out. I think my VRS needs an 18 inch tyre to clear the brakes.I'm pretty sure VAG doesn't do an 18 inch steel wheel and when I asked Skoda Australia about buying an alloy wheel to suit they quoted me $1000.00 .Ouch! so I tried second hand (who cares what a spare looks like) but it looks like in this country most wheels are either scrapped or sold in fours. So I'm now trawling buy and sell sites.

I'm pretty sure I've seen VAG 18" space saver wheels on resale sites in the UK such as eBay, I could be wrong

dont forget different wheels can have different widths as well as the size of the rim so a 16" wheel may be 5.5" wide where as an 18" may be 8" wide , (going by my old passat yrs ago)
