My Columbus (RNS 510) unit is stuck in a constant reboot loop on the Skoda logo. I cannot send PMs yet because my account is new.

I updated it evrithing fine now,thanks to Pab,had problem with cd probobly dirty laser but i had onother 510 unit so i tookcs drive form it and instaled it

How do I get in touch with pab567? A bit off topic, do all these Columbus machines have an HDD? I don't seem to have one (well it doesn't show up as having one) and if not can one be fitted retrospectively?

All have either HDD or SSD, yours has SSD, it's used for maps, music and poi

Hello everybody,

I am experiencing issues with my columbus unit in my 2012 Superb.

It cuts out whilst playing, and transmits a pulse / heartbeat sound for about two minutes with the screen black, then this stops and either the boot screen flashes on and off for a few minutes, or the screen oscilates between time display and black screen - sometimes it comes back on, sometimes it doesn't.

I am really not technical at all in respect of things like this, so if any of you could assist me with things to try for fault identification and possible rectification, along with how to identify the part number, HW and SW information mentioned in this thread, I would be grateful
