Fabia Grill - I hit a Pheasant!

Recommended Posts

Hi, Quite new to the forum as i've only had my VRS about 3 weeks.

This morning however i managed to whack a pheasant on the way to work and managed to destroy my front grill. I can save the badges but it appears as though the rest of it comes in 3 pieces, which are all damaged or cracked so will need replacing.

These are the body coloured surround, then the chrome surround and then the black grill insert. The two surrounds are cracked and the grill is smashed open.

Does anyone have an idea as to what am i looking at paying here? For those three parts i'm looking at about

The colour coded surround is approx £40 & the Chrome insert is approx £25. Don't have a price for the grille slats, but I'd expect them to be about £25.

£90 sounds about right then!

This will give you an idea of what the parts are etc -

What colour is your car?

I will be selling my Black one soon with the new vRS logo but it wouldn't come with the body coloured bit.

I may sell my spare grille parts, I have the slats and the chrome but not the body coloured one.

I remember when my dad hit a pheasant in his MK4 Escort, dented the bonnet and cracked the bumper. Bloomin things! Most animals run away but a pheasant will stand it's ground (must be either daft or think it's a bl**dy hard bird!).

Should be a really good meal there, I love pheasent.

If the skin hasn't broken then hang it in a cool dry garage or barn for about 5 days then pluck it. Can be quite a dry meet, so good to wrapped in streaky bacon. You won't have any shot, which is good.
