Hello Folks,

Good to see that this website has developed into a decent useful source of info and entertainment. I first came across it many moons ago, not long after I acquired my 'tavia 1.8T SLX estate back in 2000. Then it was in it's infancy, but now it's grown into something that's a match for any owner's site. (Creeping over !!!! :duck: )

Scanning through the FAQs, I came across the 'How to improve your ICE' files - I'd already sussed the 'remove the plastic from behind the front cones' and 'disconnect the rear tweeter' mods myself, but I thought I'd give the 'rip out the felt' mod a go last weekend. It works BUT only one problem ...... it shows just how naff the rear speakers in the estates are. ( :slant: ) Oh well, I might have to spend some money on better ones.....time to search the ICE forum - any suggestions ?

Keep up the good work folks :thumb:

Welcome to Briskoda Andrew.

Can't really answer your q's as I don't have any experience with the Octy's, but I'm sure the Octy boys will help out as usual once they find this post.

hi and welcome! :D

with regard to your query, chuck it in the ICE forum and see if anyone can give any suggestions.

Welcome to the glorious wprld of briskoda. The forum for owners of Skodas new and old (although i haven't seen any Estelle and only one Rapid). This also seems to be the least serious forum i have been on for a while. Have fun

Welcome Andrew

Welcome. WRT your query about rear speakers for estates, post it in the ICE forum as suggested, but ensure you mention that it's an estate, as they use different speakers from the hatch. Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the welcome guys ... I'll have a quick search of the ICE threads and post a request if I draw a blank.

To make a confession - I've had a few Skodas in my time ... started with the infamous rear engined Estelle (tweaked springs & Spax shocks, a few engine mods ... tail happy in the wet !!!!), progressed to a Favorit (pretty much stock) and now a 1.8T Octavia. I would have had a 4x4 as I tow, but in early 2000 the info coming from Skoda was that the 4x4 (if it came to the UK) would have the 90 bhp diesel engine. Not that I've got anything against tractor engines - I've had two diesel power vehicles in the past, but 90bhp most be pretty gutless.

And yes....big brother is watching you.....

BFN,
