Fabia Sport

Featured Replies

Grateful for any views on the Fabia Sport (Black). Shortly getting a vRS for myself - thinking of buying the Sport (yellow) for 'er in doors'!

What do you think!

As a cheapish runabout I'd have one.

I have a boggo polo 1.2 and with hardly any kit it only costs a little less than a sport, and I'm sure there will be deals to be done.

Sport has better seats than the vRS,colour wise!

I think that sounds like a good idea. I believe there are some attractive finance offers on the Fabia Sport at the moment too!!

One word:

GUTLESS.

Agreed, even compared to the 2.0 :D

Fantastic little cars... and don't listen to people... yes it is gutless compared to a vRS.. oviously!! But its a cracker of an engine the 1.2 12v and don't knock it till uv test driven it.

A good decision, don't think u'll regret buying one at all.

Has a nice engine note though

If I were you I;d look for a 1.4 16 v

Its much quicker and has more potential

truer words are never said... still find my self sitting in my wrecked fabia reving it to listen to the engine!! :o

It's not that much quicker!!! Better to go for the TDI if you want a bit of go ;)

However, he wants a cheap car for the Mrs to nip down the shops and generally potter about in.

Seems like a good choice to me. Diesel ain't worth it as it'll be low mileage, why go for a bigger engine than is needed?

The TDI has more potential than the 1.4 16v if he wants to go that route, it also has more potential than the 2.0 unless you spend silly money.

Chris

Its 4.5 seconds quicker to 60...

And the 19tdi has exactly the same performace figures as the 1.4 16 v 100bhp.......

Test Drive... look at costs... see what u both like. Its the only way in reality. No matter which u decide it'll be a good fabia.

The Fabia Sport is a really good package. Looks good with the alloys, tints and foglamps, has decent spec and the interior is really nice too with the sports seats, leather and chrome bits and the 3 spoke wheel.

I drove a Roomster last week with the 85BHP 1.4 16v engine and it wasn't anywhere near as nice as the 1.2 12v. Didn't sound as good or refined and didn't seem as eager either.

Not everybody wants to tune or modify their cars. Some people actually buy them because they believe that Skoda know how to make a great all round car!

As has been said before, for a 2nd car for the Mrs, the Sport is fine, looks good, great on fuel, cheap to insure and cheap to buy!

Rant over!

One word:

GUTLESS.

 Youre missing the point totally.

As a 2nd car and a runaround, its a really good package.

So who gives a toss if you have to rev it hard.

We are seriously thinking of getting one to replace our Clio. It makes much more sense.

Gutless???

D2D are offering the sport at £8216 and the ambiente at £7549 at these prices imo the ambiente is a better offer, at list £9k and £8.7k respectively the sport looks better.(sports seats cd changer alloys). I owned a 1.2 ambiante fo a few months and had a sport for a week or two, once you get the motor upto speed it will sit there happily even up gradients on the m-way at 80. Didn't find it very frugal tho for short journeys, nice place to be and as mentioned sounds quite pleasant.

D2D are offering the sport at

Oh yeah once you start speccing the ambiante the sport becomes better value, but for just the 'basic' car.....

What's with your signiture thirdtimeluck:

Will eat Honda Accord Type R and BMW 325 for breakfast

In your 1.4? you are having a joke right, even my remapped vRS with a whole host of other engine mods could only just stay with an accord type r / 325.

He has a 2.0. Faster than a Veyron and as quick as an F16 on full reheat :D

Oh... 2.0

screw you guys.....

:)

If I didn't feel the need for 130bhp, the sport would have been a very good buy. I'm sure it's still nippy like most small cars are.
