Or its called something very similar to that!!

What is this bloody pop up that keeps coming up and trying to download things on my work computer, its getting more and more consistent and its really starting to pi$$ me off now.

Anything I can do to stop/remove it?

I swear I would rip the f**king head off any nerdy computer hacker or people responsible for this sh.it, I wouldn

Are you allowed to DL and install software onto your work PC or do you have system admin and the likes?

If you can then try Spybot search and destroy and also Lavasoft Adaware SE both pretty handy for the removal of spyware and free to download

Or Microsoft Windows Defender (from the microsoft website) for a slightly more work friendly solution, if you're not allowed to install software but have the ability to do so if you choose (if you see what I mean)

Tis a small business, no I.T department to be seen - thankfully.

I can do what I want with my computer so I'll download something to remove it from your suggestions.

Cheers chaps

I run both Spybot and Ad aware once a week, keeps my laptop running smoothly.

Both free so no licencing issues.

Use File Hippo - Download Free Software for freeware and shareware, protect your pc for free, the best way.

I use:

Avast! (preferably) or AVG

Ad-Aware

Spyware Guard

Spyware Blaster

ZoneAlarm (for basic users) Or Sygate (for myself)

Spybot - Search and Destroy

Any best of all, its all free!!!

I was having exactly the same problem as yourself and I ran Spybot and it came up with 12 issues. It cleared these but the pop ups kept appearing.

I ended up noticing that the pop up blocker needed to be switched on, this seems to have solved the problem.

Hope this helps.

The problem with turning on the popup blocker, is it remove the symptoms but the cause of the popups is still there.

Run something other than spybot and see what it finds, I use adaware, spybot and windows defender. Each finds something the other one misses.

Check under Tools>Manage Add-ons

for any unusual active X programs running in internet explorer. Anything that looks a bit unusual disable it and then close and re open internet explorer to see if your cured.

I've had a similar problem with unwanted "anti-spyware" which has managed to evade Adaware, Spybot, Defender etc. In the end I searched my hard drive for any exe files created in the last 2 weeks and deleted them all - that did the trick.

In addition to the tips and applications posted above take a look at Home of Gibson Research Corporation for more free security applications.

I have a feeling it's linked to my Window's internet security which I'm not sure would still work as I'm also running the latest version of Norton.
