You're gonna have to update the first post in the thread though, done a fair few more things since ;)

:iagree: - didn't seem to pick up my hint earlier in the thread though  :P

you've done the Advance test then? well done!! how did it go, still waiting for an observer to take me out and getting impatient!!!

I don't believe there's any test element in that particular course.

There is no test element - It is mainly tutorial and you get a 3 page document back with a kind of score, and notes about your driving style. I had some habits that the chap just couldn't stop me doing - such as resting my left hand on my leg when cruising, and leaving it on the gearstick too long. Generally though he was impressed, and I felt I learned a lot from it.

Cool, just seen the site, might enquire further, had a driving assesment at work today, positive feedback, just the occasional crossing of arms and speed :p

I was told about crossing of arms - then I was told a woman who had a slow speed head on whilst crossing her arms - the airbag went off and put her hand into her neck. She was wearing a HUGE ring and the rock cut her jugular and she bled to death... Sure it was a bit of misfortune that she died, but the fact she was crossing her arms whilst manouvering was the cause certainly hit home (and yes I still do it quite a bit....)

Yup, if your arms are crossed, they're in front of the airbag, so if it goes off, your hand or arm is going to be the first thing that hits your face, not the airbag. Does act as a good mind focus...

Also if you're in the habit of putting hands through the steering wheel, or grasping the spokes of the wheel with your thumbs, you might like to reflect on the fact that lots of drivers get broken thumbs or wrists from that habit, if they happen to have a collision that results in a sudden movement of the steering.

I have recently done a half day Ride Drive course as a 'refresher' after 30+ years of driving and also got my 19 old son to do the same so I would feel confident and comfortable letting him out in my Octy vRS.

I was most impressed with them. The principal reason I chose Ride Drive vs. any other 'advanced driving' course (I was a member of the IAM some years back) is that ALL their Instructors are serving or retire Police Driving Instructors. My instructor had done 35 years in Traffic with the Met and had been an Instructor at the Police driving school at Hendon - Top notch man.

All their instruction is based on 'Roadcraft' (the Police manual) and the aim is to drive safely but in a positive and assertive manner, which is particularly relevant with a 'performance' car like a vRS. My half day proved that you CAN teach an old dog some new tricks. I would highly recommend Ride Drive to anyone else.

Anyway just to come back on topic - Awesome motor Devonutopiua; wouldn't it be easier to list what you haven't done to it?

Saw it in the metal at the Star Inn meet - bl**dy impressive. Sounds and moves like a jet going by....(and this was with a complete spare engine in the boot!!!)
