The yellow one looks very cool. The red one looks stupid.

Cheers shifty. Ive not been up to yours for ages a visit is in order very soon.

It sounds awesome and drives much better now. Cant wait to pick the car up from my friends.

good work , that loom looks like a bit of a birds nest , i'm liking the gauge in the air vent hole

  • Author

The loom pictured is the old manta/bmw item which was some of the worst wiring ive ever seen. Thats been binned now and a new manta loom is fitted.

Yes the gauge in the vent is a little favourite of mine too, the glass on it needs clearing up where welding sparks have pitted the surface.

can i blatantly nick one of those images for my desktop?

i'm in a retro rally slag mood :)

Definately old school cool, great job you've done

:) - Esp the bit where it's not in a Russell Brookes scheme!

Nice work mate - its looking good.

Will keep my eyes open now its on the road - its not exactly easy to miss!

Jason, feel free to wallpaper my car I dont mind. Thanks for the comments guys.

I was chatting to a guy yesterday who lives very close to Russell Brookes. Hes got Russell Brookes actuall 400 rear spoiler which I may be buying once I get everything else out of the way.

For those of you that dont know. A number of months back my manta project was completed. It was on the road for 2 weeks and the throttle cable stuck, hitting a crash barrier. The car was beyond repair, well it wasnt worth the cost of jigging properly.

Words cannot explain how gutted I was. I will not be building another one anytime soon.

That's a real shame :thumbdwn:

Is there another project to replace it? :D

Well I wouldnt call it a project. I wanted a beast that didnt need much doing to it.

This GTB was a favourite of mine many years ago playing gran turismo 3.

SUCH a shame about the Manta! Blimey  :thumbdwn:

The new beast - hmmm, very err, yellow :P

Like the little Blistein badge

Steve

Aw that is a real shame, I really liked that Manta. To add insult to injury you now have gone and picked up a Sexually Transmitted Infection. Great car no doubt, but who names these things?

Chris

Sorry to hear about the manta it was a lovely car that you clearly put a lot of work into:(

I'm waiting for Ford to perhaps think they need a sporty diesel in the Focus range. Cue the Focus STD! :D

Steve

Gutted. Like the new car. Was a fan also.

I love the Legacy GTB, but couldn't find the right one (at the right price!) when I was looking a few years back. That one looks mint ... or should that be custard .... and your track driving thread makes more sense to me now!

To go with the fast version of their smallest car, the KaSi ? :D

Crying shame about the Manta. :(

Maybe it sounds like "being wise after the event", but this is why I sometimes fit an extra return spring to, and always remove throttle dampers from, my cars.
