Nice car...especially the choice of alloys, they can make or break a car the alloys (That's what I think anyway). How does your suspension set up compare to the KW3 (Is that right?). I would probably do just fast road rather than track with my estate (if and when I get the estate...I am thinking about the hatch now...). Can u lower the car with suspension u have or did you use lowering springs?

Thanks for the help.

Indeed, I think the others will recall the long selection process, we decided on broad shapes over fussy fluffys as it suited the estate. I swear the RS6 would look bloody amazing, black trimmed up...grrr

Fast road is fine, but B's well be wary...that is the KW's v2, so height, and rebound could be adjusted, compression no, thats KWv3. I could of gone much lower but that height ( a little under RS height,or 3fingers in old money) gave good results, easily adjusting rears to dial out understeer, was nice. But I swapped it for a vRS instead. I need not of done, but I did and certainly do not regret it, nor would I recommend the vRs over the 4x4, both have strenghts, but it's very different from the scooby, although I only test drove a 03 WRX, passengered in a 22B and a few other WRX's...Scoobys are good and well composed for B roads and A roads.

If I were doing it again, I'd go KWv3.

Ffelan,

The POWER GASKET the mods I am going to put on my car (when I get one) would I need one OR is it for things like bigger turbo's, FMIC, Forged Pistons etc.

By the way my suggested mods are under the Thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7022

'Suggested mods for Octavia Estate...any good?'

(In 'my Performance' section).

Does it involve a lot of work to get it on and generally where would I get all the mods I suggested done (I am in the Northwest) at JABBASPORT. I need good quality reliable work I am willing to travel a fair distance if I have to as long as the work is TOP.

Thanks

Aaquil

erm for remap go to jabba.

for the rest... either yourself or a decent mechanic is best.

would not recommend Awesome... they seem very anti Skoda and thier workmanship is not the best...never let them near brakes.

IMO Jabba are well worth the trip.

Jabba if your getting the inlet, CAI and zaust or are just after a change in character.

Perosnal experince thus far is with APR and Superchip, APR being on that 4x4 Estate...the one in Cornwall ;)

the present car has superchip, but will be jabba'd at some point to take advantage of the CAI, inlet and de-cat. If none of those were present, I'd look at APR, REVO and Jabba in no particular order.

As to Awesome, they lack some customer care, but mainly as they are busy as hell with VW's...sad to say, but a case of speaking to the chiefs works best, eg Andy and Jim and is the only way I can go back.

But APR solution is slick, not the best power on the market, but slick, via cruise and the ECU lockout is very nice if leaving in car parks etc.

Superchip's btw...only if you are adept at barge pole handling would I commend it's smooth and FLAT power map for the RS.

The Power Gasket lowers the inlet manifild temperature....you put it on whatever your mods.....apparently it does make a difference and I guess it would be quite good in hot weather...like last Summer.

Still haven't fitted mine.....need time to do it.

Takes me 3 hours to get to Jabba from Hampshire but well worth the trip. We also get a standadard 5% discount on single purchase buys or 10% discount for group remap buys.

If your interested and when you're ready PM me and I'll go throught the details.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Hello Lee,

I just had a look very nice car, Black alloys really suit it. How much BHP is it pushing out. The suspension how does it compare to KW3 in terms of cost, quality and adjustability. Who did your mods?

Thanks

Aaquil,

The car is currently pushing out 245bhp (dyno-ed before induction system so I reckon we can call it 250 now, not that much up on chipped cars with their 230 bhp, what really tells though is the torque at 263 ftlb. Mods were by (dare I say it) AmD.

As for H&Rs, ride height adjusts down by 50mm apparently but I had them set it at 35mm. Ride is not for your retiring type, rather unforgiving over poor roads but gives the car a good feel when "fast-roading". Motorway undulations go right through the car and you, but (to quote a well known fast food retailer) I'm lovin' it! As for KW3 comparison, don't know, think those are more expensive compared to the H&Rs and offer more adjustment, I'm sure Tavia RS and others can enlighten more on this topic.

Huge piccie alert!

That pic looks rather familiar :rubchin: :D

Thanks for the info. What do you mean '...(dare I say) AmD'. Is there something I need to know?!!! Should I just stick to 'Jabbaspor' when I get my mods done (If I ever get round to getting and Octavia!!!).

Thanks

Aaquil.

Dare I say AmD only because most people here swear by Jabba and from the posts I read they seem to be justified. I had my car done before becoming a Briskodian and since then, it has been pointed out on occasions that AmD are expensive and perhaps not as down to earth and open to input from the customer as Jabbasport. I know when mine was remapped, I wasn't asked how I wanted the torque/power delivery, i.e. across the mid range or peaking at high revs as appears to be the case with Mike (is it?) at Jabba. Exceptionally pleased with the results though!

Lee

Lee,

is your the "big turbo" conversion with the TT intecoolers?

Cheers.

Adrian.

Edited: seen your other post...big turbo conversion...I guess you have the dual intercooler then?

Adrain

Sadly not  , uses the OE intercooler. This however is to be changed to a ADB Racing FMIC this spring
