I'll answaer you original question... the list of mods you want is what Jason has (devonutopia) because his car is running more than 200bhp, and weighs about the same :)

Obviously anything involving corners would see the Golf get the edge.

Totally.

Well well, all i can say is my Mk1 Golf Gti after a recent RR night ( 111.5bhp ) kept up with a 182bhp Fabia till 100ish :D

Get that car to Star at once, Craig. It's 0.5 bhp down on standard :eek:

Basically. The answer you were looking for is. Your car is not as quick as a standard Golf GTI. There ya have it...

Just to add fuel to the flames, why not a Mk2 Octavia vRS instead of a Golf :mischief::mischief:

A front wheel drive car won't touch a Impreza in the wet? Had a track day in the Fabia a few weeks back. Around the little set up laps, the Impreza's couldn't touch the Octy's or Fabia's. This was pouring with rain.

Technically, you'd expect the 4 wheel drive car to be the better, unless it was down to driving skills, i don't know what was going wrong.

the imprezza driver couldn't drive for carp or had slicks on then mate :)

I have both cars on the road performance is close so its all down to the driver.Off the mark the 2.0 T gets alot better traction. up to 100 not alot in it after 100 the 2.0 T creeps away . The vrs has a big hit and feels awesome within its narrow power spread the 20ltr has long smooth power and is the best engine i have ever tried. To see a big performance diference on the road the power diference has to be big.The 2.0T has the torque of most diesels it is a remarkable engine.

Like 70bhp? ;)

I am talking about a remapped fabia ;)

That was at Star ? and Derek was the Fabia. The reason it was below par for a 23yr old car was i was only running normal unleaded.

Mmmmm, I don't doubt you but I do if you know what I mean!!.

Dont Doubt him, I was there too ;)

Just get a bike, for

But what if the Golf has DSG and uses it's launch control?

Ah, but what if a Meteorite from the planet Viega crashes through our atmosphere at 17,000 mph and just as the Golf & Fabia are on the start line they both get hit and are disintigrated, mmmm, we'll never know then.

[completley unrelated mode]

Do you know, nuclear establishments are protected from meteorites because the CAA have enforced a no fly zone over the sites

[/completley unrelated mode]

And a Fabia will never keep up with a Golf GTI at the top end.

It doesn't... I've tried! :o

It like comparing chalk and cheese.

However you can write your name with very hard cheese like parmesan and you can eat chalk without harm. Life is never simple.:D

The Golf would definately disintegrate faster than a Fabia ;)

All 3 of them? Oh, and go easy. Some of them are on here!

A remapped fabia has 30bhp less than a GTI so how would it keep up top end? You would need A remapped PD150 Golf to come close.

Depends on the maps, You can get lots of different ones, and I believe you can get a 210bhp. Mines 185BHP and 295lb ft torque, thats alot more torque than the Golf.

210bhp on a fabia with a remapp? A lot of the fabias have been dynoed in hollywood, in reality they wont produce more than 170-175bhp in the real world.

Thats what I was offered, but they recommended the 185bhp for best all rounder.

Also, have a local REVO agent who can also do it.

You would need A remapped PD150 Golf to come close.

The PD150 turbo and the PD130 are nearly identical as far as performance goes. Yes, the PD150 turbo is a bit bigger, but hardly.

Once remapped, there even closer to being the same. One has instant rush, the other has the instant rush but just over a wider band.

So if that's the case, then find me a remapped PD150 Golf which can leave a remapped PD130 for dust.
