Should my yellow vRS have a black slam panel?

Featured Replies

I know my car has had a wee bit of bodywork (as previously posted on here) but tonight I finally noticed the slam panel between the front wings, behind the headlights is black, whereas my car is yellow!

Should that be, or has it been replaced at some time?

It is stamped with Skoda and has a couple of factory looking stickers but I wasn't sure.

Cheers,

Steven.

I think they are all black - a dull matt kind of black rather than the black magic pearly type black.

Probably nothing to worry about.

I thought mine had been in a front ender when I saw mine. They must fit it after

dropping in the engine.

My Previous Octy vrs was black with a Dull black Slam panel ( I had this from Brand New)and my new 54 plate Silver one has a black slam panel, guess skoda cant be arsed painting this bit properly!!

yes they are black well it is on my yellow octavia vrs:)

Black as well.... I guess it is cheaper not to paint them to match the colour of the exterior bodywork. My Nova was black, but my 306 was body coloured (silver)

they are all black, its cheaper.

I think it would look wrong to have a bright coloured piece of metal behind the black grille anyway...

yes that's correct  a yellow/silver/red etc slam panel would show through the grill and look pooh, oh and it's cheaper that way too.

My old 2001 vRS also had a black one.
