Help !!!!!! Vrs on death bed

Featured Replies

Hi Guys.

Drove my 51plate Vrs yesterday morning no problems at all.

Jetwashed it Yesterday Afternoon on Drive looks good.

Started it this morning and holly crap= It feel like it is running on 3 cylinders the engine is bouncing in the mounts.

The engine warning light is flashing and it has gone into limp mode

The cat stinks (on the car, not the fluffy type)

any ideas???

could I have knocked something by jetwashing the front of the car quite vigorously to remove leaves etc

any help greatly appreciated

regards

Neal.

coilpacks?

Or have you injected several gallons of water up the exhaust pipe?

I would say it sounds like the coilpacks may have got damp in them.

If it is then you shouldn't drive it as you can pass unburnt fuel into the cat.

Thanks Guys,

If it is the coil packs are they still a factory recall item. I remember reading some time ago that Skoda where replacing a faulty series of Coil packs, is this still the case and does anyone know how I would go about this.

cheers

Neal.

You may get them replaced but if not I think they are circa £25 each but don't quote me.

Telephone your dealer.

They were replacing all of the faulty ones FOC but it is now done on a case-by-case basis - on the assumption that faulty ones will have been picked up in a service by now so there shouldnt be any bad ones left out there.

Stu is correct, there are around £25 each - and a VW/Skoda dealer is usually the cheapest source (rather than a third party parts chain)

It should be noted that not all will have to be replaced at the same time.
