have you hear the one about.........

Featured Replies

went in my local dealer yesterday for a set of wiper blades for my octavia only to be told that they did not have any in stock till the end of the week!

it would not have surprised me if they did not have an unusual part in stock but they are a very common service item and that they are the same as the fabia

so what is the best and most simple item that you have gone into the skoda dealer for and they have not had it?:)

I shall be waiting for someone to say windscreen wash solution ;-)

I had to wait 5 weeks for a set of shocks for my gfs felecia to come into stock and a week for a n75 valve. However they did have a MAF and a bit of plastic air ducting in stock.

Oil.

None in the parts department and none in the service department.

Don't know what they were putting in cars though

Relay 109 waited over 3 weeks..good job I was after a spare and didn't need it to keep the octy on the road

Would probably still be waiting for a brake hose if it wasn't for the VW dealer network...

arb bushes

booked car in 7 weeks before went to pick it up and they did'nt have the bushes in stock so could'nt do the job

skoda UKs stock control system does seem rather less than ideal doesn't it.

Walked into Skoda stealers one Saturday morning, waited 5 minutes, When storeman asked yes:mad: I said filter and oil please for Blah,Blah,Blah, He said sorry wer'e shut:mad: stock taking. Drove to VW dealers, they just took the chassis number from the windscreen, parts purchased away to go:thumbup:

Oh! Skoda stealers were Bay Horse Motors Hereford and the storeman was Scottish.

what does the storemans natinality have to do with them having the stock item you needed ? :S

Maybe, in the context of the whole sentence, so that you can identify which dealer and which storeman in particular he is referring to?

I live in Ross on Wye and bought my vRS on the Isle of Wight because of the salesman's attitude there. I now use Winner's in Cinderford.

My previous Octy, requested alloys as an additional purchase, but they only had 3 in stock ( am still trying to find a 3 wheeled Skoda model :) ), it took over 6 weeks to get the 4th one in from SUK.

I laugh about it now, but at the time it was VERY frustrating.

Our local dealer has undergone a lot of personnel changes recently, and not for the better, either :( The old parts manager was a pleasant fellow, more than can be said for the new one.

Just been told that my replacement driveshaft is now on back order

Look at it from the other side. I sold a bloke a key blank, five minutes later he was back demanding a refund because it didn't fit his locks.
