3rd Generation Octavia Spy Shots

Featured Replies

looks more like a facelift than a totally new model , not sure on the front lights

For a moment I thought I was reading something from Sniff Petrol

I guess if your a motor journo' you have to justify yourself some how.

I can't believe people can write things like....

OOOHHHH its 'probably' going to be a bit bigger

and a bit faster

and a bit more fuel efficient...

All based around some dodgy photoshop mock-up.

I'm sure someone on here could provide us with both a better picture and review of the 'new' Octavia....... Go on I dare you.

It will cost more than the previous version and have more faults

And it will be sold by sales people in expensive suits in a showroom designed by Norman Foster.

VAG 'Value Brand' my ****.

This is very much like the speculation from several years ago before the current octavia was introduced. For now they are just renderings of what its believed the new car will look like. A lot can change in the 3-4 years before this car is due.

MUCH better front end.

Have to say I like it lots! Very subtle. Superb-esque rear too. Nice.

Bunch of Ar5e! The Mk6 golf is due in 2009 as the current model costs too much to produce. The next Octy will be based around the Mk 6 but, by then a lot of things will have changed. With the turmoil that VW is going through ATM, Skoda may even be sold off by then. That pic is not a spy shot, it's just a weak rendering of what some geek thinks the next Skoda Octavia could possibly look like, maybe. And it's just a MK 5 with different headlights! If it looks like that, I'll eat my own pubes.

drink plenty of water after :P

Ohh it might be bigger, say based on a B5 platform, and combining the octy and the superb into a single car. Hmm not that that one has been heard in many places many times before.

Whilst involved in business with SUK their head honcho for the north of England said their long-term goal was to place themselves in the market between VW and Audi.

Surely that's just a facelift?

They still haven't done anything with the doors.

It *still* looks like a Mk 1 from the side.

That might tally with that shot of the Superb hatchback though.

The Octy and Superb will be the same car but its going the other way. No B5 type chassis, the Superb is going over to the A5 chassis the same as the Passat has.

Probably is true....maybe to bring the front end of the car in line of the new Fabia and Roomster ala Renault etc. All the cars have very similar front end styling as a standard.

this is probably to give the cars the "skoda" look.

If it does look like that, and its released it 2009, SHOW ME THE WAY TO A DEALER !! :woohoo:

Hi, Anyone know when the 3rd generation will be released? 2009 or 2010? or later?

2009, please, please,please.........:P:thumbup:

2010/11 was the last I heard, although I thought a mild facelift was coming later this year early next?

Going to be honest here, new to Skoda, and apart from seeing Skoda's about, never took much notice of them, till I got a Felicia that I'm trying to raise from the dead.

However, looking at the Octavia, the front end reminds me of a Chrysler, the back end reminds me of a Cavalier, the side - well you can just about make out a Passat / Rover.

The estates I've seen remind me of the Rover 70's or the MG versions. I love the Roomster, and I hope the Yeti comes into play, but I feel personally that Skoda have lost their own personal look. Brilliant cars, and I've no complaints with the Felicia, great to work on, easy to fix (when you know what you're doing and how to do it ) but where is the Skoda's niche, apart from good cheap cars that look good, drive well, cheap to maintain service and run, the core identity has gone. If the Octavia's had a few more inches ground clearance, then I'd really think about an estate when the Xantia is ready to depart.

I'd really like to see something Skoda, not a car with a Skoda badge. Something that actually defines the Skoda look, so you can go, ooo that's a Skoda, so many car designs are bluring together, and it's a real shame I think.

If we can afford the fuel for it...

Got these pics too:
