Am I seeing things

Personally I would set myself on fire before using Horner's in Manchester again. Don't do it.....

2nded. bunch of bloody half-arsed monkeys with zero pride in their shoddy work.

They are listed as an "authorised repairer" on Skoda UK website, so I assume so

I'm sure they can do warranty work. Since the change in EU regulations, manufacturers have been telling a lot of dealerships that there agreements are up, but they can carry on with a service contract. Given that there is virtually no money in new car sales for most small dealers anymore, you won't see them complaining, as they keep the nice high margin servicing, and don't have to pay the manufacturer for a load of consignment stock. Pretty sure that Parkside could source brand new cars though, they have unregistered models in their showroom.

Parkside are highly recommended for service and parts, I go there rather than Sylks in Macclesfield, as it is so much better, and cheaper!! Got new brake pads fitted for less than any other garage could down in South Manchester, and there OEM.

On the issue of signage, Parkside are really clever and use the old Skoda logo from the 80's.

Yes - Claybank Skoda. Never tried them though

Don't bother.

It took them 3 days to decide that my water pump was knackered and 3 visits to to sort my front ARB out.:thumbdwn:

I even told them that the noise coming from the front of the car was the ARB, but they went ahead and fitted a nice new shiny centre exhaust section instead.

These are both common faults with the Octy vRS so what was the problem?

I once stood in their seperate service workshop (you have to go there for parts rather than the dealership itself  ).

Whilst waiting saw two Octavia's brought in on to ramp with a nice little handbrake turn to the right each time to line them up. In between them, I got to see someone using a mallet to knock off a rear wheel, which appeard to be corroded on, unfortunately the sound of the mallet missing the tyre and hitting the wheel was somewhat distressing and I left as fast as possible. Make your own mind up...

good riddens, waste of time that place, not as bad as manchester though

Parkside all the way as far as i'm concerned!

Went looking to buy a Fabia TDI back in 2000 and Claybank were useless. Didn't call me back and couldn't get a car in to test drive other than an MPI. So went to VW and bought a Bora instead. Went back in 2005 and they were fine so they got my order for the vRS. Horners M/cr were useless and kept trying to get me to take finance to get a small discount when I had cash... No demonstrators apart from a ropey looking 25k 18 month old vRS on the forecourt for £11.5k.

Been back to Claybank twice since - 12 month service which they carried out with efficiency and to order luggage nets from the Parts desk. No urgent warranty work required yet. (The courtesy car had no washer fluid but I won't hold that against them!)

I was going to mention claybank as that's my nearest one. I've only been there to order stuff though, not to get anything fitted. Doesn't sound too good!

Parkside are your best bet, they are approved repairer's for service, warranty and parts so everything is up to scratch when it comes to looking after your Skuds old and new.Worked for 6 years with them and they are Skoda through and through.....hence the old signs going up

Claybank...hmmmm worked for them too...only for 8 months...say no more :finger:

Gorners were brilliant to work for, pity it went belly up,they were good to work for and very professional :(

I'll second what Smiffy said try Simpsons I've bought 8 new cars off them since 1988 you won't be dissapointed.

"Relocating.....my ar*e!"

That's management speak for

"Closing down and selling up but why not try our other dealership in the next town rather than going over to the competition - 'cos we've already got you on our database anyway."

Have they increased the staff and facilities on the site at Manchester to cope with the extra custom from Bury? Will the already poor standards of service referred to in the posts above suddenly improve now that we have to share that setup with Mitsubishi customers too?

Will the staff ever be the same from one visit to the next?

I think it's time Horners looked again at their mission statement and began to put their staff and customers first for a change.
