Remap - heard of these guys?

Featured Replies

Well, they say up front that they're not carring out a rolling-road remap, but even so, I can't help feeling that they're "too cheap" compared with the site sponsors, and the magazines.

It is tempting though...

It is tempting though...

It is seeing as I live in Scarborough which is where they give as their location. It would save me quite a bit of money comapred to driving somewhere and maybe even having to stay overnight. Compared to elsewhere it sounds good value, but you do get what you pay for in life.

I don't suppose anyone knows of somewhere near to Scarborough do they?

The guy who does this is a member of Briskoda (forget his name).

I met him at the recent N/Yorks meet at Whitby, and recommended him to two of my mates from work.

One has a MK2 Octavia Elagance TDi, and the other has a Seat TDi.

Both have now been remapped by chipboost and they are delighted with the results.

Bill :)

PS. chipboost phone Number is 07977 475955

They are site sponsors on TDISport.com and have had favourable reviews. Don't seem to overstate their figures either, e.g. with the Fab VRS they claim c.165bhp

Thanks for the info. I'll have to see if the finances and insurance allow for this. Plus, I'm not even a year into the warranty and I know this is a grey area. I'd hate to invalidate the warranty, but there again I would love a remapped car. Ain't life difficult?

If you do go ahead, be sure to post up how your experience was.

I've done a few searches on a couple of other sites and they seem to be favourable. My only concern is the lack of petrol engine maps versus quite a few diesel versions.

Hmmm. Plenty to think about over the next few weeks.

I took a look at his feedback on ebay and it mentions hes done a mk1 vRS Octavia, I mailed the customer, just waiting for a reply at the moment.

Genius! I hadn't even considered that. I'd be interested to know what they say.

Watch this space :)

Or you could mail me direct and have a try before you buy remap!

Yes James from Chipboost, can't reccommend him highly enough. Sound bloke, came to the house and did a fantastic job.

He waited whilst i took it for a drive after and i was extremely pleased, pulls harder all the way upto the red line and doesn't seem to tail off!!

In fact i had him remap my mams TT225Conv and it was mind blowing!!

Really sound guy and i'd be confident to say that you will be impressed and think the same once you have it done.

Go to him direct @ www.chipboost.com

Whoops!!! too late!!

James,you beat me to it!

Cheers mate, it sounds better coming from a customer!

Okay, I'll give you a call over the next couple of weeks to have a chat about the possibility of thinking about maybe considering a remap.

Cheers,

Andrew.

p.s. I've just got to convince the wife now that a remap is more important than nappies and baby wipes.

 - you could tell her you can get to the shops more quickly to buy those goods I suppose :P

Guess why I am hoping to get my car 'finished' asap, in case a family extention occurs ;)

James, which area do you cover? Im just across from Yorkshire in Liverpool. Any idea how the standard clutch copes?

Cheers.
