VAG-COM Automatic door locking?

Featured Replies

Has abyone tried this on a Fabia? Are the codes the right ones?

Is there a list anywhere of the full codes for functions as i can only find a list for the engine adjustments at the mo.

Can't tell you what the codes are, but Big K sorted out the 2 stage unlock, autolock, etc at Duxford in a matter of minutes on my Fabia 1.4...

In module 46, adaptation channel (10), there are the door lock unlock functions Channel 03 Auto Lock (auto locks car after 10kph)

Channel 04 Auto Unlock (unlock the car when u take the key out)

Channel 05 Unlock, horn sounds (not a horn, more like a beep when u unlock)

Channel 06 Lock, horn sounds (same as above only other way around)

Channel 07 Unlock, turn signals flash (easy)

Channel 08 Lock, turn signals flash (easy)

Channel 9 or 10 Change the alarm sound (if you have one the onlt sound that is different is the German one))

For the 1 door unlock, still in module 46, go to recode (7)

write down the existing soft coding and if it is an odd number take one away to get single door unlock (I.e 28481 - 1= 28480) reverse to have all the doors unlock at the same time.

I have tried the above and cannot get it to work. It seems to accept the chank, says do you wish to save and then does not actually save the changes to the ECU. any ideas anybody?

are you running the full registered copy, the one you download has some functions disabled till you register and buy it.

Got the full registered version, so cannot see what the priblem is, it says it is saving it but does not seem to, any ideas??

Could it be the version of Vag Com?? Don't see why as the Fabia is listed but who knows

before it lets you do anything, you have to scan for faults so that it recognises the ECU (or something). Do this and then try it.

Few queries here, can you buy the cable seperate (serial or usb), if u can where from? Can you buy from the car dealers? Also how much? By the way is there much different whether you use serial or usb?

Also where on earth you plug the cable to the car. I'm a PC techy here not a car techy but a wannabe :P. Anyone got a pics of where to locate the car port?

www.obdtool.com gives you the serial port version and a shareware copy of the software for $81. to regester it you have to go to the Vag com website at www.ross-tech.com. This costs $100 and lets you do avarything that the VAG diagnostic tool can (shareware just lets you search and clear faults).

Ross tech also sell directly, but it is more expensive although you do have the choice of a usb version (they still recommend the serial port one though). You can also buy from www.vag-com.co.uk or other links from ross techs website, but they are more expensive than importing yourself.

The diagnostic port in the Fabia is behind the cubby pocket (or can holder if you like) on the right of the steering column. All you need to do is give it a tug to take it past the catch (it does not break) and it is the purple plug behind it.

I have now tried this 3 times with no results. I can change the number of doors that unlock with the remote but cannot do the rest. It says it is saving but does not. Could this be my car. It is an '03' Fabia Comfort TDi.

so can i set my Octavia to do this also Jeff?

if so could you set mine up if we get a chance on Saturday?

having just read a couple more posts would like the drivers door one click then the rest.

Saturday it is then

i too would appreciate some minor changes like the following doing to my Octy vrs.

(1) the double lock thing on the doors

(2) the horn sounding when activating the alarm.

I'm coming on Saturday, so who can i come and see to have it done. how will i know who to look for seeing as i'm a relative newbie? will fetch some beer in the boot as a bribe / thank you!

ta!

Gilly

I'll do it for you Alex, no worries.

The alarm horn (or siren) that sounds and I can only change it if it is std Gilly, not the add on thacham.

  • 1 year later...

Is there anybody within a 40/50 mile radius of Brackley (South Northants) who's got VAG COM and could set my car to auto lock when pulling off and see if you can enable the beep/horn/siren when locking.

Cheers

Alex, there's a list of codings in the Guides section on here that I knocked up when I first got my VAG-COM. What cable are you using with your VAG-COM and which version of VAG-COM do you have?

Can you REALLY turn the 'beep' (when locking and unlocking) ON ? My dealer is quite sure that the Octavia II doesn't have a beep.

And, as Dave already asked above: is there a list of adaptation-channels available? I'm quite curious which things can be changed...

This mod on the locks is interesting,I am due to get my Octavia VRS from my dealer this month so I could ask the dealer to set this up for me............but what happens if you were to have an accident and the ignition was still on ,would the doors unlock or would they stay locked,if you were unable to unlock the doors anyone outside could not help you in getting out?

The doors unlock automatically when the airbags deploy.

It will only beep if the car has the alarm siren...... :D

Chris

I found out today that the beep-option is still in the diagnostic-computer of the dealer, BUT DISABLED DUE TO CHANGED GERMAN LAWS!

Come on, I thought we (Dutch) kicked them out 60 years ago...
