What's an Allard conversion?

A conversion done by the folks at Allard Motor Company ;)

 surely not :P :P :P

Allard does some very nice work for sure. Their race PD is extremely fast but it is a tad too smokey for the road IMHO.

Still, I reckon with the mods I have on mine I should be able to get up to quite nice figures as well as having a road-legal, traffic-jam-driveable car which will allow me to have a bit of fun occasionally too :D

My main aim now is to get the blasted thing back together, working properly, tune it properly, and enjoy the grin factor again, which at the end of the day is what it is about ;)

I think 240 bhp is readily achievable with the following relatively straight forward mods considering what you are attempting:

Turbo

FMIC

Turbo back exhaust

New Injectors

Clutch

Custom remap

Obviously suspension/brakes will need treatment too.

Since several Fabia's are pushing 220+ bhp without upgraded injectors, allowing even more fuel & upping boost further on a good turbo should allow 240 with mountains of torque.

Chris.

Children we must keep this on topic, you don't need a bigger exhaust ;) standard is fine. And yes I know some of you may not like me saying so since your tuners have convinced you otherwise.

Cat retained or de-catted?

For me keeping a cat (subsitute word) attached to my moderately sized exhaust is a must ;)

I still haven't worked out why it is rusting though, must be all of this smoke coming out of the end...

Very tenuous innuendos I know :D

What has this got to do with the size of his penis? this is debate about the most powerful fabia. However looking at your username BigW(illy) it appears you too have concerns over the size of your manhood therefore feel it necessary to let everyone know how BIG it is? That's nice...

If he doesn't give a feck then so be it, but I really see no point in people saying "oh, there's this car that's got more power than any car on Briskoda" ?

Anyway, back on topic.

P.S. I know someone with a 265 bhp Allard conversion Fabia vRS but I am not going to let anyone know who it is incase SUK get upset  :D

Actually, my surname begins with W which all my friends know me by, and should you care to ask anyone who has met me, I am a bit of a big chap hence Big-W. I have absolutley no concerns about my penis, infact i am very openly happy to dip it in a pint of beer or two at the rugby club with no embarrasment at all :P

The rest of your badly put together retort makes little sense to me so I will refrain from following up on it

Cat retained or de-catted?

100 CEL

i know of a 225bhp ibiza pd130..

and devonmikeyboys cupra which was 246bhp

His new Audi PD140 is nearing 300bhp at the min...

Simple awesome IMHO

Well, I'll probably have his gearbox soon too. :P Nothing wrong with my current one, I just want it to make the LSD fitting go smoothly. He also has his old engine should mine go kaputt anytime soon.

Mine to is a mongrel of Mike's car, but his engine as gone now Jason so it looks like our parts system has dried up :(

I've been spending a fair bit of time looking into the power figures for various tuning companies bigger turbo packages. Anyone know how is it that Jabba torque figures are always massively higher than Allard / JBS etc? I've seen 400 ft + quotes, whereas Allards top setup hits 360ish (Allard being the ones with the TDi heritage). Jabba seem to be able to get some massive torque with just a remap and new clutch according to their website.

TBH its between Jabba and Allard at the moment, and Allard are much nearer to me. Its hard to call when both do excellent work.

For hardware I would use Allard

For software I would use Jabba

Then you get the nest of both worlds. Just got back tonight after getting Allards VT5 turbo fitted. I can't wait to get back to Jabba for them to do their stuff. :)

looking forward to hearing about those power figures

Should be very interesting :D

all very interesting - suggest you have different categories:

derv-only fuelled

derv plus propane

derv plus NOS

derv with both

maximum torque

maximum bhp

fastest quarter-mile (this is a standard that is repeatable, takes into account clutch,LSD, tire issues and probably is the best yardstick)

You really have to test all the cars on the same RR otherwise it's not a true comparison...........

well said Bas, time for a santa pod meet :D

Without wishing to start a riot, you have to remember that these figures are achieved on the company's own equipment and not at an independent rolling road on the same day, with the same atmospheric conditions, etc, etc so comparing the two figures is really meaningless. :D

Have you considered Impossible Performance? I think they'd be top of my list for getting the best out of your car :D

Chris

those guys are quite a distance from me, and i have more of an understanding of jabba and allard. I will certainly gove the website a look when i get a second. Other people have suggested derv dr?

My torque figure from Jabba was verified (more or less) @ 3 other rolling roads post-tune. :) They're newer RR does seem greatly more accurate than the old one.

Does it have to be a diesel we are talking about. ;)

Considering the amount of smoke your produced when Jabba mapped your car last compared to other 220/230bhp carsAllards have mapped and the slight fact that Jabba are now going to have to remap your car with a totally unknown turbo and cam i am surprised you didn`t let Allards map it for you while you where there. Now if something goes bang Allards will be blaiming Jabba`s mapping and Jabba will be blaiming Allards work and you will be stuck in the middle.

I'm with Mike on that one Jason.

Thats Jason for you. Always going against the grain. He`s a rebel and a pioneer. Do what u do best Jason. Rebel!

It will be an interesting one for sure
