33 surrounds gone, 5 spoken for, 12 still left for anyone considering one

Got mine this morning, cheers Q.

got mine this morning cheers buddy

I can't get mine to fit

Took plates off car at lunch time, and screwed the surrounds on the car, tried to fit plates back in and they wouldn't fit.

Might shave the sides of the plates a bit.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Heaven's sake do not do that. :)

You flick down the lower part of the holder - It's on (quite a stiff) hinge, so you unclip it, slide plate in under the top bit, then clip the bottom bit back after.

Oh, I see that now.

Thanks I will give it another go :o

Got mine today, thanks Q. Might have to get some new plates - and have

no screw holes.

I was thinking new plates too - mine have frame around them and are plastered with the dealers logo, plus the back one has holes drilled through.

Gwilo suggested a place in Rochdale that makes them up cheap - I'll see if I can find the thread and link it.

Edit - Found the link - post 10 in this thread (but there are other suggestions too)

If you're looking for some good quality plates, I can recommend Dubmeister. The pressed (metal) plates are fantastic quality, and you don't need to deviate from the legal standard UK fonts/banding. They are also up for groupbuys (says their website), and I'd be interested in another pair (for another car), so maybe it's an idea to start a groupbuy in pressed plates?

Anyway, I'm glad the surrounds arrive safely

Go for it Q.

:iagree:

Emily? Sooooo? Did it work in the end? :D

I can recommend Dubmeister.

Another vote here. Couldn't find Czech plates so went for the German ones :o

Go for it Q.

Hang on, I've just organised this one! Now it is someone elses turn

I'm after some pressed alloy FE font plates for my Fabia, I called Dubmeister the day before yesterday to see if they'd be interested in running a group buy...as yet no word back but will call them again today.

Emily? Sooooo? Did it work in the end? :D

It is on the front, and looks well smart.

I can't get the stupid plate off the back of the car. The screw has become all rusted and welded and I am worried about threading the screw threads. Might leave it for an expert.

Right, those who where on the pre-register list and haven't followed through, I assume you are no longer interested. I'm going to close this thread and start a new one with all the info for everyone else as I realise that not everyone is interested in wading through 4 pages before finding out what the lowdown is on these.

Thanks to those who ordered!
