Millers Diesel Power Sport 4

Featured Replies

I've just been speaking to a chap at Millers about this diesel additive. It's had some very very good write-ups from other forums and I was wondering if anyone on here had tried it in a VRS? Power gains are around 17% on a HDI engine, so similar should be possible in a TDI. Economy is also said to improve by around the same amount.

I'm thinking about trying it and will report back in a week or so if it's any good.

Im pretty sure that no additives whatsoever should be run through a PD engine.....might be wrong though.

:iagree:

i dont like the idea of it either, and that is an outragous claim, 17%!!!

Millers products state on the back whether or not they are compatible with PD engines, although Skoda state quite clearly in the manual that no additives should be used.

17% sounds like a ludicrous claim imho.

Theres a big thread about this on SCN.. and those who have tried it say its fantastic, it can raise the Cetane rating by 5 points

I might pop into motorworld and see what they have to offer lol. Furby has done almost 18k miles so might be worthwhile just using a bottle to clean the system out slightly. 17% is a bit optimistic isn't it? Would the ECU be able to compensate that much for the higher cetane rating?

Might pop some in the Focus for evaluation purposes. ;)

I've been using the Millers Diesel Power Plus for quite a while now, with no ill-effects.

I'm going to try the Sport 4 stuff once I find a local stockist.

i'd be very interested to know if it makes any difference to the performance at all or if it all is just a big con

I posted a review of this stuff up a few weeks back. 17% is ludicrous imvho, however power is definitely up (I can tell if it's in the tank or not) and mpg is up 2-3mpg across a tank. It's certainly better than the bog standard Power Plus that I've been using previously :D

I've convinced my local motor factors (who is an official millers stockist) to look into the sport 4, and they're ordering in a shedload, so that I can get some. Told them it will be highly demanded. ;)

Personally, it sounds better than power plus, and more importantly, it says much more suitable for "Euro IV compliant engines" which I believe all PD engines are? :)

Nope, all but the very newest PD130s are EURO3 only, hence the addition of a stutter to later models

so euro IV is even better?? Then it may work really well. The thread on the TDI section of SCN is really gathering pace and initial tests of the this stuff have been promising indeed.

went out and got some today from fletchers autostore pricey but have driven around today and defo improvement (not massive) but feels a lot more responsive and sure enough town driving (on a saturday as well) mpg up by 3 ish.

I have just bought 500ml of the Power Sport 4. I have only done about 10 miles with it in and haven't noticed a difference yet. Will let you know the outcome after I have driven a couple of hundred miles with it. Cost me £9 inc vat btw.

I bought this today from Fletchers in Birmingam. Was around £10. Not noticed any difference but it does say you have to wait aorund 250 miles for a difference.

yes sorry forgot to say i put in twice dose as it says you can for that extra boost and figured why not lol

I believe that WYMMS power boost is very similar to millers it increases cetane 2-3 points and sells for about 6-7 quid. Heard good reports about this as well, plus its been out about a year or so now

Its worth a thought as its cheaper and seems to do the same thing

Cost me

I'm splitting a 5 litre pot with a local mk4 golf TDI owner. Going to be putting my share into secure 250ml pots so I can carry around small amounts at a time. :)

Wasnt Millers working on a PD-approved version at some stage?

Where did you buy?

Steve

I bought mine from Akers and Battle in Skipton, North Yorkshire. Its one of our local Autofactors.

I actually found the car felt better and much perkier on just a single dose of the stuff. Might just be because I whacked in a double dose to start with and the effects were only evident after a few hundred miles (when I had a single dose in)?

Anyone fancy arranging a group buy? I'm down to half a bottle now

I believe that was dropped in favour of the Power Sport 4?
