Calm down...relax. He's only just got the car! Wait till its nearly out of warranty first (Skoda don't take nicely to a remap and warranty). Besides there's tons of torque in the 170bhp Diesel, it'll easily pull away from the petrol (driven correctly).

hi. and welcome. the boys welcomed u 1st i see. :D 170 bhp for a tdi . nice :P

It's alright for you BPM, you've got the satnav. Everything outside the M50 is "the sticks" to most Dubs!

Stamullen is in Co. Meath Gaff.....

Welcome Graham :)

And remember at this time the 170 doesnt like to be remapped, plays funny buggers afterwards.

so bascially your saying that Skoda & every other car mag that has done a road test with them must be wrong. Maybe they are all driving them wrong, or alternatively the person driving the Petrol in the road test you mention off could have been a bit slowwwwwwwwww off the mark.

Maybe you should let us know which petrol vRS it was up against & who was driving it ?

Btw Did I tell ya I smoked a Ferrari last week, yah he was looking at himself in the mirror when I took off  . vRS FSI, Ferrari beater :P

Welcome neighbour, I am live in Naul. Were you at the rally on Sunday that kick off in the new City North Hotel in Julianstown ? There were some amount of Skodas there including Vrs Combi course car, it was a great event.

Sorry about the typing errors two bottles of wine to blame.

Thanks lads for all your comments. Will have to keep an eye out for you all when I am out & about. Not sure about the re-mapping just yet, but maybe one item I might get for the car is the Sat-Nav. Any of you guys got it and is it worth the money ?

Also would like to know, what cleaning products would you use on the seats....leather/suede. Don't want to leave any makes on it.

Yup get Sat Nav. You'll never regret it. I recommend a Sat Nav that uses Navteq maps as they have 100% coverage of Ireland.
