Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what the updates were when the Fabia was updated, and when this was exactly, please.

I've used the search function, but computer says no:(

TIA.

Anyone?

You mean for the 2006MY?

If so, slightly different dash plastics used, rear lock buttons deleted and new style rear light clusters.

BLT EU4 engine introduced.

I think it was 05/2005.

Some of which were rear lights and one touch indicators. Door pins were removed but i can't remember when.

Cheers Stu.

I seem to remember something to do with the gearbox as well, but nothing too major?

Just wondered that's all;)

Gearbox change was earlier than the update, iirc slightly different final drive ratio, not much in it really.

Change of gearing - I believe it was just on 6th gear, someone should correct me if I'm wrong.

About March 04 - revised gearbox ratios: more acceleration, less long-legged. vRS badge changed to short variety about same time. One-touch/three flash indicators came in about that time, too.

Early summer '05 - 'facelift' changes to rear lights, door pins removed on rear doors. Purple brake light switch replaced dubious black one.

Facelifted cars also got a new dash texture towards the back of the dash. The exterior also recieved a new grille, with slats that turn inwards slightly...

Did the T/C light also change to a skidding car from a broken circle with an A in it?

Colour coded door handles?

Colour coded door handles seem to be a very new addition. Can't remember when I started seeing cars on here with them as standard though? Back end of last year perhaps?

For info, my Fab was registered March 04, had one-touch indicators, the updated gearbox but the original long vRS badge. There certainly seems to be some differences and overlap around this time, particularly with the indicators. The other 'facelift' bits then arrived mid-05.

2007MY for colour coded handles.

 - was going to stick my neck out and say that, but wasn't 100%. Strange that they don't do the strips as well. The result looks a little odd IMO.

Hi folks,

This is my first post on this site and i have a question relevant to this thread. After selling my old Leon Cupra tdi (baby and pet dog didn't suit it so well) i'm soon to be in the market for something diesel powered again and the vrs seems to fit the bill for my commute to work.

I've been doing a load or reading up of reviews etc and one pointed to the updated version and commented on the suspension set up feeling much better than the original version they tested. Can anyone confirm if the 05-onwards models have uprated suspension? This may certainly help refine my search.

Cheers guys!

I don't think any changes were made to the suspension during the facelift.

Chris

Mine is an 04/54 (October) plate and I have:

Short vRS badge

I'm not doubting it got changed to purple i'm just wonderin what it does and where the switch is?!

think it must be switch that activates the brake lights when u press the middle pedal....

2007MY for colour coded handles.

And also the 4th 'last drops' wipe of the wipers after washing the windscreen was deleted but can be reactived by a skoda dealer or with VAG-COM

Like mine does! - thanks Stu

Thanks for that. I thought it was a bit odd that i hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere else. It was the Independent Paper's online review. Cheers.
