Done over 150k miles?

Featured Replies

I saw somewhere else on the site that one Octavia owner has done over 300k miles

At 104k I thought mine had done a lot........ So come on then, who has done over 150k in theirs?

Not over 150K but have just ticked over 105K - engine wise fine, but now need to get full suspension sorted out (think its all the crappy roads and speed bumps in and around sheffield)

As prior to my ownership it was a company car - so mostly motorway miles.

Been most reliable car so far i have to say

Oh and re-mapped as the sig indictaes :)

100k just done on a remapped vRS and the car is solid as a rock. My Primera GT is on 160k and counting and is solid still on original exhaust, cltuch, alternator etc :D

We have a local Taxi driver whose Octavia has done 225,000 with no major mechanical repairs (original clutch, exhaust etc.), it looks as though it has done 40,000 miles and only driven on a Sunday.

I am at 106,700 miles in my 2001 (Y) 110TDi at the moment, but it needs new shocks all round now!

Clutch replaced at about 74k (replaced as part of the purchase), and turbo changed around 80k. Not changed the exhaust yet.

I read somewhere of a taxi driver who had done 1m miles in a Toyota.

I'm on 107k in my remapped Vrs with no problems worth noting (touch wood!!!) Wishbone bushes are starting to knock though but I treat these as consumable items now as most cars seem to suffer with them.

toyotas are very reliable, i have 320k miles on my 1992 toyota camry, have done a lot of work, suspention 3 times, transmition, shocks, etc...but the motor still working great

My September 2003 Octy vRS is on 110K miles.

Re-mapped at 10K miles, and various other modifications,LPG/Dual Fuel converted at 50K miles and it has been fine.

Had the cambelt changed at 70K,new dampers/top mounts at 108K miles, serviced every 10K miles at Impossible Performance.

It does on average 800+ miles a week,so will be at 150K by Christmas this year i reackon.

just about to tick over 100K in my 2001 110 TDi and not a hint of trouble (apart from the usual niggles!)

Front shocks are "Starting to leak a little" acording to the MOT guy, but are still a pass.

I got up to 230,000 kilometres - about 150,000 miles - with my TDi90 before it got vandalized - no trouble with anything much at all. If the insurance people hadn't been such arses, it'd still be running.

Same as mine at the last MoT... don't think I get away with it for another year though!

This is one regular I serviced a while back, still going. 1.9TDi on its original engine and gearbox, just serviced and a few clutches.

Nice.... looks like I have a bit of catching up to do!

Im on 107k on my 01 Vrs, mind u i need(because people in donegal Cant drive and thats were i got the car from at 100k) suspension, Front, well just the normal......but i also need a new cross member for the front, wish bones, sump, 3rd one by my guess, on and a whole new front end cause some D***head hit my car when it wz parked!!!!!!! but it still drives! and engine wise just a clutch, eveything else, turbo etc is GREAT!

I've got 130 on my 51 TDI 110. New shocks and bushes at 105k. Sticking clutch master cylinder finally snapped off at the the pedal at 125k. I thought it was catching on my cheap Tesco mats!

Because the last cambelt was late (82k), then second Cambelt and fifth service are probably due at around 140k in a few months time.

Beige interior is looking a little tired and the trim has picked up some rattles, but as long as it still picks up nicely in fifth gear, I'm happy.

just done 305000 miles no major problems apart from a gearbox at 155000 miles, had car from new and still drives as good as new. just goes to show that with regular servicing the car can still go on and on.

On 110k at mo. Not as lucky as most, but not too bad. Waterpump blades went at 100k, but that was done under warranty as well as the cam belt and headgasket all part of the same job. then had 'heavy oil leak' on MOT and was told had to replace turbo. Have been told that suspension bushes need replacing some time this year. Not sure if there are aftermarket ones to go for, any suggestions?

  • 10 months later...

The Merc I currently drive has 175K on the clock and still doesnt mss a beat, had an engine rebuild at 150k due to the timing chain snapping though!

i am on a fraction over 123k, roll bar is knocking loudly, and the coolant sensor is playing up. cracked an exhaust mount, and damaged the plastic shield under the engine.

other than that seems sound.

Well the fifth service cost me a new coolant sensor, but that has fixed the fast idle it sometimes had on cold start. I also had a near side wheel bearing at 145k. Now nearing 150k and the only complaint is a clunking through the steering column at low speeds.

i feel left out!

'02 vRS on 81k

'91 Suzuki Samurai on 142k!!!!

better put some miles in.....

Good on ya TaxiRay !! 305,000 cool hope all goes well

Mines only 18 months old so an embaressing 36,000

Just over 100K in mine, having new cambelt, tensioner, rollers, water pump and thermostat fitted next Tuesday. I'll be 4-years-old next month too.

My black one had 138,000 on it after 30 months when I sold it, the silver one had a meagre 142,000 after the same time period. Never did crack the 150 barrier - thought they'd expire before that and it was damned close in both cases!
