Octy2 rear screen wash

Featured Replies

Well having read the comments on this and other links re warranty issues with the screen wash went to my local Skoda dealer for some concentrated screen wash, storeman disappears into the stores and returns with.............2ltr bottle of HOLTS screen wash

What I'd like to know is how the washer pipe popping off is still happening on cars built in 2007, given that it is now approaching a 9 year old VAG issue (my first experience being on the other half's 2000 SEAT Leon and a friend's 2002 golf).

How hard can it be to come up with a better fixing?!

I think it is a problem with a lot of different cars. My old Fiat Bravo had a similar problem with the back screen wash pipe frequently popping off. Also the rear jet washers are not a fan type anyway AFAIK it is only the front. So how can they use the wrong type of screenwash arguement. As an aside I use Tesco own brand and have no problems (I used it for 4 years on my old Mk 1 and have used it for nearly 2 years in my Mk 2) with blocked jets.

is that right what ive read above? you can now by the screen wash for the fan jets in 5l bottles?

I use the Halfords advanced, but you must use the advanced (grey bottle as opposed to the blue bottles) as it has water softeners in it.

I used it for two years and 75,000 miles in my previous Leon with no problems at all, and I live in Lincolnshire with very heavy water.

I pre-mix it myself into a 25l drum I have in the garage, so I can say with accuracy that I got through 75l (3 drums full) in those two years, and as I say, not a single issue of blocked, slow, or popped off washers.

When you say Halfords Advanced, after looking at their website, I cannot find advanced, but found these:

Halfords Ready Mix Screen Wash 5L from Halfords Price

Everytime mine was serviced they would leave a partly used bottle of screenwash(VAG) in the boot so now i have enough to last a lifetime:thumbup:

Thanks.
