Production of vRS Stopped???

Featured Replies

A frend in the motor trade was looking to buy two new fabia vrs for a customer.

Their supplier has said that production was stopped overnight without prior warning and they can no longer supply them.

Is there any truth in this and has anyone else heard anything?

Not heard that myself, but then we dont sell new ones.

I would have thought the vRS will run into MK2 production as the MK2 vRS wont be a launch car.

Yes sounded strange to me aswell but thats what they were told by a supplier they send lots of deals to

A couple of dealers that i rang told me that they have stopped producing the vRS for just now, so that they can make the Limited Edition model.

Maybe they just said that to me, so that i would buy one that has alrady been built so they can clear the current stock for the 07 plates.

I dont know whether they will make them after fininishing the Limited Edition ones although the new model Fabia vRS wont be here until the end of 2008 or something like that, so im assuming that they will still be making the current one up to then.

How does Skoda's production line work? If they have taken out the Mk1 Fabia line for the new Fabia, then this story may well be true. It wouldn't make much sense to keep an old model in production just for one high-end variant (the vRS) would it? Personally I hope not as I really want a new one but haven't persuaded the financial controller to relax her iron grip on the purse strings just yet.

It may not follow that they completely stop production in order to produce the new car. They've been producing the car for a while.

The Mk I Octy is still being made and sold to some countries, including the UK as Taxi's.

They did with the Mk1 Octavia vRS.

Hi all,

Just been chatting with a chap on my old Polo forum about his new purchase...... A spanky new '07 Fabia vRS..... it appears he's been told that the vRS has now stopped being produced and he's had to have a car in a differant colour and without xenons etc....... Which he originally would have gone for.

Anybody else heard of this as i thought the vRS might have continued for a while after the other models ceased production.....

Cheers

Dave.

There is already a thread running on this, i'll find it and merge.

I ordered a Fabia vRs a few weeks ago, was originally told it would be a week 8 build, now told it will be a week 10 build. Dealer said they are having trouble getting any form of Fabia at the moment.

:RIP: MK1 Furby

Seems the stutter has extended to the production line

yep..

basically the salesman has said ive just bought one of the last 22.... last week there were only 6 in the country

'Tis true. You are no longer able to order a Fabia vRS to your specification. The only cars available are the ones in 'the system'.

There are a small number of cars available, mainly silver and black with various options, so if anyone wants a red or a yellow one they'd better sort one out very quickly!

Ive got a mate who can sort that for a couple of grand, you can have any colour you want, even Focus asbo Orange, stripes are extra though !

apparently last week out of the 22 there was only one with xeon lights and that was in black... they didnt say about the yellow, but i had a choice of silver and red so i went for red

They haven't stopped making them - they're just trying to work in speech therapists into the production line......:D

Surely this was just a temporary shutdown to manufacture the blue ones - I suspect production of the other will be back again soon. :)

They wouldn't need to stop production just for a colour change.

There are no more Fabia vRS scheduled to be built. In fact, the current Fabia has stopped production completely.

Sorry, I may have mislead you slightly. There is a week or so of production left, but nothing else can be ordered.
