Production of vRS Stopped???

Featured Replies

Got to be good for second hand prices though. When I need to sell mine, the last thing I want is a glut of Fabias. I mean, just look at the depreciation of Fords for instance - According to "What Car , a 2.2TDCI Modeo Estate will have lost £14K in 3 years - buying a new one is an impressive way to loose money.

Surely they still have to build existing orders, at least i hope they are, I too want my furby.

Just heard today, that there will be no more Fabia vRS's made i think week 12 are the last ones to be made. Then the Limited Edition ones will be produced, but after they are all made they wont continue making the normal vRS's.

Ill second that. Mine is now to be built to specification in week 12, possibly into week 13 then thats it. Be one of the last ever produced.

is this a good thing for depreciation?

It could well be, although remember that a lot of the early vRS's are 3 years old now and are being traded in which may help drive 2nd hand prices down, depending on demand!

thats you and me in the last 22... wonder who's got the other 20!

we should get a little certificate :)

I think we should, and some extras for free...

The black one with xenon lights could be mine.

A frend in the motor trade was looking to buy two new fabia vrs for a customer.

Their supplier has said that production was stopped overnight without prior warning and they can no longer supply them.

Is there any truth in this and has anyone else heard anything?

This is true, no more factory orders you can only have whats already built or a special edition!

Hi all,

Just been chatting with a chap on my old Polo forum about his new purchase...... A spanky new '07 Fabia vRS..... it appears he's been told that the vRS has now stopped being produced and he's had to have a car in a differant colour and without xenons etc....... Which he originally would have gone for.

Anybody else heard of this as i thought the vRS might have continued for a while after the other models ceased production.....

Cheers

Dave.

Hi. The vRS was going to run along side the new Fabia untill the ebd of 2007. But all of sudden they have ceased production of ALL Fabia's including the vRS. From now on you cannot factory order any Fabia. So if you want a vRS you have to have whats in stock or a special edition.

The only Fabia that will remain being built is the Fabia Estate which you can only buy in the 'Bohemia' trim level or the 1.9TDI 100BHP Elegance Estate.

This is all information I have. Its as upto date as you will find as I am a Skoda retailer

Looks like I ordered mine just in time, tail end of last year, picked it up on the 1st Feb.

I mentioned this in the "Official - ltd edition" thread, as it's what the dealer told us this weekend and during this week.

No more new orders being produced, you need to choose one in the system (and they're going fast) or a LTD blue. he blames the 0% finance offer for being more popular than Skoda had thought.

I'm very nervous now - odered mine 2 weeks ago and heard nothing from the dealer. I've just read this and called him - suprise he wasnt available and the person on the phone couldnt check the system!

There will some serious raspberry jam shead if I don't get my new car!!!!!

Ordered my vRS Special Edition today (one of only two heading to Aberdeen the first being sold yesterday). Salesman checked stock of normal vRS's with only 3 to be had in Scotland! No Fabia Sports left. This will be my second vRS.

A quick look at the Skoda Finland website seems to confirm the end of vRS production. Currently you can't find any info at all about Furby vRS on the site. The limited edition won't be imported here at all!

Do you mind me asking where and for whom you are a retailer?

I really want a new one but haven't persuaded the financial controller to relax her iron grip on the purse strings just yet.

Nice one

 Why were Skoda still advertising the VRS with the finance deal on its UK website??

they're still advertising the finance deal for the other models too.

And there's no trace of any official info about the Limited Edition on the UK website

Our Northampton dealer apparently has seven Race Blue Fabia vRS's on order.
