Known as industrial fallout All they had to do was actually wash of the rust as what is rusty is the particles of metal that have fell on the paintwork, insaurance claims sound a little silly to me :S It important to wash you car frequently if you park it near a factory that has a grinding department and extraction system or where the type of work produces alot of metalic dust and over a considerable time the rust will eat away your paintwork and then the insaurance claims are relevant

I would also avoid parking close to a major road and the crap that gets kick up off the road and lands on your car is unbelievable, I learnt that when I was working for shell and parked my car close to the A303.... major dirt... one side of the car was dirty and the other was clean...
