Time to give this a bit of a boost, we have 15 on the 'running list' but can accomodate another 5 more quite easily. Anyone thinking about it get your names down as it's a good day out smelling exhaust fumes . Those on the spectator list may want to add themselves to the list for a run too?

Anybody who is travelling to JKM in pompey for the RR day the two main routes would be Eastern RD or through Hilsea.

Eastern road is no prob as you will be taking one of the first two right turnings but if going through Hilsea be warned there are a few cameras on that one stretch of road you could easily end up with 6 points in and 6 out result BAN :eek: Just thought i would share this info with you

Right then, for those that are up for an early start we will be meeting for breakfast at Sainsburys in Farlington at 8:00am, this will give us plenty of time for a chat, bacon butties or full english brekkie and be at JKM for 9:00am ready for the day . Sainsburys is very easy to find on the north side of the M27 on the Eastern Road, see here.

OK here goes,

as your traveling down the M27 it will turn into the A27 you need to branch left SIGNPOSTED SOUTHSEA you will come to a large roundabout take first exit on the left A2030 SIGNPOSTED DRAYTON follow that up over the hill you will come to a set of traffic lights turn RIGHT and the sainsburys store is the first on the right .

As a general guide though, if you were doing Portsmouth to Devon would you do:

M27, A36, A303, A30 (OR)

M27, A31, A35, A30 (i.e first route goes a bit more north, but might be faster)

A303 is a much quicker route. But I'd avoid the A36 (which is a pita) and use M3 -> A34 -> A303, or if you want a much more fun route, M27 -> A3057 (at Romsey) -> A303 (at Andover)

At that hour of the morning, I expect all roads to be pretty quiet. I might give the A36 a shot purely because I've never driven it before (and have done the A35/A31 more times than I care to remember )

Further to directions this is for direct to JKM if not going to Sainsburys first for Brekie.

The required junction to exit the A27 (signed to Southsea), is in the middle of the road works with lots of cones on the A27, slip road and roadabout beneath. Find Eastern Road (third exit), motor along this for a short distance and turn right at the 2nd set of lights (next to Snows BMW showroom). Then follow the two big chimmney stacks of our local waste burning station (i.e. keep going straight along this (Airport Service Road) and left then left when you reach the give way junction. JKM is the first road on the right, right next door to the waste inceration plant!!!
