I was asking you

I seem to remember it is the Audi A6. Have been known to be wrong in the past though.

Not sure of your point, - I assume this is the range of outputs that the 2.0TFSI produces across the number of variations, i.e. Audi S3, Seat Leon Cupra, Golf GTi, Golf GTi ED30, Audi A4 Special Edition etc.

The point i was making is that a 2.0TFSI can produce upto 265bhp as standard from VW so im sure another 30bhp would be possible therefore answering the question could 295bhp be produced:thumbup:

The 265bhp variant of the 2.0TFSI used in the S3 has significant modifications (including a different turbo) over the 200bhp variant used in the Golf GTi / VRs etc.

Another 30bhp or so is certainly possible though...

Not entirely correct, 265bhp the Audi S3 produces is as a result of internal engine modifications to achieve that. I stand by my earlier statement that 295bhp is NOT possible without serious modification and a LOT of cash!.

I dont doubt it would take a lot of cash and serious mods all im stating is that it WOULD be possible:P :P

Also bear in mind mitsubishi can get 407bhp out of a 2 litre 16valve engine so im sure VW can do the same. After all they did produce the Veyron:thumbup:

As Makefish suggests, this details the major modification required.

Interestingly also mentions a 330 bhp "special"

Your thread title suggests that a dealer has achieved 295bhp from an OctyII vRS, all I'm suggesting is that I find that very unlikely considering the ammount of money and effort required to achieve it.

Where did the '295bhp' come from ie. who suggested it, the dealer?

it wasnt my thread title to start with and aint the foggiest where it came from m8:thumbup:

look at this link it shows the max power a 2.0 TFSI engine produces as standard

List of Volkswagen engines - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It mentions "...continuous intake camshaft adjustment..." - is this the same as variable valve timing, or would it need to apply to exhaust valves too?

295bhp... maybe it's a revo stage III :P

:sofahide:

My Tuppence -

I had the following mods - Twintercooler, induction kit, revo stage 2 software, full exhaust with 200 cel cats, and nothing less than V Power in the tank, and mine was no where near that figure, like 40bhp short. So, if it does have 295 bhp, and it's brand new and warrented for 20k, snatch his hand off

You did all that and only got 255bhp:eek:

VW Here in Germany were im based do a 255bhp and 350nm torque Mod for the car all for the Equivalent of £650 so i reckon for around the £1500 mark you could achieve 295bhp.

Plus seat have just launched the Leon Cupra R which has a 2.0TFSI with 240bhp as standard.

Im off to the VW garage on Friday to have my Rear Left Foglight re-wired(as the bl**dy controller wont allow it to be done with a Vag-Com:mad:  ) so im gonna ask how much power the same mod will give to that engine. Maybe 295bhp:rolleyes: :P:rofl:

I wonder if they will do a new vRS with the 240bhp 2.0TFSI engine in

'Click and drag on my signature' and you will see EXACTLY what Shifty and I are on about.

Spending £650 will NOT give you 255bhp, period!!!.

Hmm i beg to differ as i doubt VW could lie about it. When i go to the garage on Friday ill get the leaflet and scan it and post it on here.

It states the 2.0 TFSI with 200PS can be taken to 255PS ( so sorry it will be 252bhp:P ) and it costs 1350 Euros now with the fact i can get it tax free and military discount takes it down to 1003.50 Euros which at the Fixed Forces Exchange rate of 1.50 euro to the pound equals £668 sterling. So thefore you can get that power for around £650:P :P :P

You are relatively new to this forum and are probably unaware of previous discussions that have gone on here before!. What the software companies CLAIM to give you in terms of horsepower and what they ACTUALLY give you are two totally seperate things. REVO claim 255bhp but NOT ONE CAR anywhere has ever achieved anywhere near the claimed gains.

THE MAXIMUM YOU CAN GET FROM JUST A REMAP IS 240bhp, end of, and even that figure is being generous!!.

Have a read of this and you might understand this a little more.

Ok

1. The fact im new means diddly squat i happen to know alot about cars as both my father and his brother work for major car manufacturers in designing engines and i happen to have owned and tuned cars before:P

2. Your right a software remap will produce around 240bhp as the link below shows However I never once stated it was just a software re-map all i said was that i can get 255bhp for around £650.:P

3. Sorry i made a mistake its 270bhp here read this link:P

Octavia RS - Abt Sportsline GmbH - Audi- VW- Skoda- Seat - Tuning, Chiptuning

The total cost of this isnt on here but i will get the leaflet. im 95% certain it costs 1350 Euros Which will equate to £668. However this i will check and if it costs more i shall hold my hand up and admit to my wrongdoing:P :P

It says -

Through common chip tuning the performance of the standard 200 HP model is increased to 240 HP.

and

Maximum power is gained by fitting an exhaust turbo charger with intercooling. The Skoda Octavia RS TFSI now performs 270 HP at 5700 rpm. Maximum torque tops 350 Nm at 2900 rpm

So software alone gives 240, which we know and a new charger and intercooler adds a little bit more to give you 270.

What's unclear about that??

Seems perfectly clear to me and highlights everything we've said above - Simpsons car will not be 295hp.

i dont i just clicked submit reply instead of go advanced:P :P

i Never said simpsons car was all i said was it is entirley possible after all mitsubishi can squeeze 407bhp from a 2.0:P

i dont i just clicked submit reply instead of go advanced:P :P

You've lost me
