South West Owners

Featured Replies

Righty ho chaps (and chapesses), I've just nominated myself as South West Organiser for Briskoda :D

So, what is the South West? I'm counting my domain as from Southampton in the East, up to Oxford, across to Fishguard and finally down to Landsend. Oh and I'll have Gloucester as well 'cos I'm greedy :D

Firstly I'd like to know, do you live in this massive area? If so, either PM me or post on here.

What I'd like to do is get a bit of a social thing going for members in this area. Maybe 1 event per county per month?

I've got some ideas which I'll post up later if there's enough interest/enough people. Some will be limited to a maximum of 5-10 people, others will be open to as many as we can get.

Thanks for reading,

Jon

Can we include Aylesbury into this region as well? Am already being punished by BBC/Sky by including us into the Midlands :(

Ah Democratic nomination I see ONLY JOKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who else would want to do it.

Right you know where we live so I guess were in.

Yes to Socials

I definitely live in that area - yes please! :D

Q why don't you nominate yourself North London / South Midlands representative

oo-ar, you be knowing where I am to, Jon. I could be interested in something involving guzzling scrumpy and standing around chewing on a bit of straw... :D Might even bring my brand new combine harvester with me, and give you the key! ;)

If Reading is on the Western side of the Soton - Oxford line, count me in :D

This may sound 'elite' but I really don't have any time left doing the things I already do, let alone when I take something else on.

OK just to keep this at the top, here are some ideas I've had for things to do.

Social

Once a month meet at a pub, vary it each month so people don't have to drive massive distances every time (apart from those wierdos in the Peoples Democratic Republic of Kernow ;) ).

As an alternative to the pub thing, how about bowling followed by a curry?

Motor Related

1. I plan to talk to the boys in blue to see if we can sort out some visits to their traffic units.

2. Will try and arrange a couple of skid pan sessions if there's the interest

3. I'm going to talk to the regional advanced motoring organisations about discounted training / group training.

4. Maybe a treasure hunt or two

5. A couple of Exmoor runs

6. I'll talk to Erik to see what is involved in setting up something a bit more competitive (slalom/autotest). Maybe inter-regional / inter marque?

7. Maybe a south Wales run?

8. We've also got a couple of biggish rallys taking place in the region (eg Somerset Stages) why not have a day spectating?

9. I've also talked to a couple of the other boards about getting spaces on their track days at places like Castle Combe.

10. See if I can talk Mark (Wax Wizard) into a mass valeting session (4 or 5 cars) at my place in June.

So, what are your thoughts? Should I make the effort or will I be Billy few mates?

Yep....I'd be up for some of that....baby tending duties pending. ;)

In Basingstoke so, well within the catchment area. ;)

I like those ideas Jon - both curry / social and the motoring ones. :)

OK you are all sad, devoting far to much time to your cars :P

Briskoda family day out to Longleat anyone? :D

Don't suppose your definition of South West stretches as far as the Essex coast ?

Why not? Today the South West, tomorrow, The World!

:D

Well, by your definition Newport ("Gateway to Wales", or whatever the current council-babble is) is in the South West.

I'm up for both motoring and social - and who knows, Mrs KLB might be up for some of the social stuff as well, once she's feeling better

Might even bring my brand new combine harvester with me, and give you the key! ;)
What would Jon want a second combine for? :P

As the site is awash with essex boys and girls, I'm sure we can sort something else out (like indikart) :D
