Don't really think it counts but my 53 passat tdi had 115k when i traded it in a few weeks back for my fabia.

Well,my 2001 Octavia Elegance TDi now has 134,000 on the clock and is still (fingers crossed) fine and dandy.The only real issue with mine so far has been replacement of the VNT unit on the Turbo.

My neighbour owns a 2003 VW Passat TDi 130 which has done 240,000 miles trouble free.He has clocked up this intergalactic mileage doing daily airport runs as he works for a private hire firm.

my works van now has 157,000

used o own a mitsi colt r reg 1.3 had 140,000 when i sold it and in all the years i had it only needed a set of ht leads. sold this about 2 years ago and saw it the other day in town:)

also my brother had a h reg oyota think it was a celica or something i had owned it before him and my mum before him. it had done 190,000 nothing wrong with it but my brother had got his first house and could not afford to run a car!!!

82k - 1999/T Felicia 1.6 SLXI

(was 63k when I got it one year ago)

Previously 112k - 1997/P Felicia 1.3 GLI

(was 47k when I got it in 2003, had it 3 years)

Previously 95k 1992/J Citroen AX 1.1 TGE

(was 46k when I got it in 2001, had it 21 months)

Had a lot of trouble with the Citroen, including oil leaks, stalling, fluctuating idling speed and some muppet failing to fit brake pads properly, which let to the brakes failing completely (managed to stop safely with gears and handbrake). Should have got rid at the first sign of trouble. The two Felicias have been more reliable, a fair amount spend on usual wear and tear replacements, but then they were both cheaper than what I could have bought.

Ought to try to wean myself off the habit of running up high mileages in older cars.

A regular customer of ours has a Taxi that has done 235,000 miles, he keeps it so well that it puts cars with 1/10th of that mileage to shame.

03 Octavia VRS estate with 122,500 miles of which 1500 approx is with the new genuine exchange engine and turbo I have just fitted. Reason for failure, estimated 40K without an oil change. I think the person selling it the chap I bought it off reset the service indicator as it failed with 500 miles left to go. The oil filter was completely covered in rust and it was a genuine 2 year VAG filter. I work on VAG cars day in day out and I have never seen one of those filters go rusty all over.

Hi everyone! I’ve been thinking about taking my TDI RS Octavia to a track day, but I know that the stock oil cooling is a critical weak point. My question is whether there is an OEM+ solution out there, like using a Crafter oil cooler, or if I should go with an external oil cooler instead. On top of that, how plug-and-play is an external oil cooler setup?

Good morning everyone, I need your help resolving an issue I can't seem to resolve, even with the help of Skoda customer service. I purchased a Superb Style, registered in Italy in 11/2024 (steering wheel with Skoda logo, not lettering), with the Lounge Design setup (the seats are electric except for the forward movement which is manual and does not have position memories). Hi again Hoping for some more good advice! Cam belt is at 40K ,5 years approx. I know there is a lot of controversy around timings of cam belt changes,and it seems the precautionary principle is the main view.Expensive principle but fair enough.I was having the belt changed because I could occasionally here a low rumble at tick over. Thinking tensioner pulley or something potentially very nasty. However,the rumble disappears when the clutch is pressed,and on my VW T4 I was told a new dual mass

Hi , hope someone can shed some light on a this . On an 2021 Octavia fault says. The regeneration frequency of Diesel Particulate Filter is not ok , says the fault is permanent . Car is due to go for software update , would this have something to do with it. Thanks
