I would settle for the seats having decent lumbar support:thumbdwn:

 this country cant compare to the far east. Yes the work is done in China as that is where paul has contacts with at the moment. They do a good job and a cracking price.

Do you really think if you buy a Skoda main dealer fit leather it would be made in the UK anyway?

No its not made in the UK (although my local Skoda dealer told me the delay with delivery of the SE's has been down to the leather seats being installed in the UK).

Most of the seats are made and stitched in the Czech Republic by a number of companies but the main one for VAG car seats is Jonsons Controls. Ive already tried contacting direct and theres no chance you can buy from a VAG supplier without going through a VAG company/dealer, no chance.

Only problem with leather is it's too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter (unless you have seat heaters), and it's also very slippy so not great in a sporty car....

Chris

The vRS will roll over before the seat bolsters get any kind of hammer in the twisties so the grip isn't much of a problem.

The fact it's not the best handler in the world means it's the perfect candidate for leather.

The 'hot in summer cold in winter' comment is true though. The A/C will be taking a beating getting in the car after it's been parked in the sun me thinks. And winter....well, hot water bottle time? :D

Half leather would be the ideal. Best of both worlds.

Oh yes, I'll be making a beeline for Altofts when it's done to show off. :D

Still, yours is mapped and lowered so I'll be left standing, if in greater comfort in my leather clad pimp mobile.

 its back to standard ride height, the ride was too crappy so ive taken the springs off. And my "mates" engine is standard for the week cos its going home for some work doing. ;)

The leather from seat surgeons is wicked, there is a red vrs in wake with *555 vrs on the plate which has had the re-trim, he went for black outers with white perforated center and red stiching. I was lucky enough to sit in it the day after it was done when i fitted his hand-free and alpine ipod headunit.

Got mine done last September (as per my signature below) and still very very happy. Would certainly recommend having the door cards done. The front ones avoid the scuffing that you get if you drive with bare arms that leave grey marks on the original harsh black cloth above the arm rest, and the rears have leather right the way down to the base of the door - so look really plush.

I was thinking of having leather in my red vRS, but I notice that the vRS logo isn't sited in the same position on the seats as the Skoda leather ones?
It's because the embroidery can't be done on a perforated panel.

Does anybody do 'proper' Skoda style leather ones?

Anyone know if The Seat Surgeons have a web site? Tinter-web aint finding anything for me

If you showed them what you wanted the Seat Surgeons should be able to make it.

They used to have one but not any more I don't think.

I had mine done by transcal and it looks identical to the standard, but a little more shiney :D

Automotive Leather Interior Specialist - Transcal

How much did they charge you out of curiosity? Did it include door cards?

if i was gonna get a retrim id go for cloth inserts with leather outers(half leather)

Don't think Seat Surgeons can do that, I think it all has to be leather.

Picture of mine btw:

They look nice Harry :)

Well after looking at some of the pictures people have had kicking about I'm tempted to go for all black but with the inner part perforated. Reaons being, the main pre-reqs for this are practicality and I'm scared that white centres (even in leather) will still mark or stain. Can anyone share their experience of the white centres?

My only fear of going all black is the car will look even more like a morgue inside.

"dun dun dun dun dun dun dun...I see some leather seats and want them painted black......dun dun dun dun dun I see my dashboard and it's all so fecking black......"

:D

After seeing some in the flesh I wished I'd had mine done all black.

Hmm...yeah, I am swaying that way. All black with a perforated centre. The banana one on your site with the all black seats and yellow stitching looks ace.

I'll wait to see what the swatches show but I get the feeling it'll be all black.

The missus will be having the car after me and it will have kiddies in it so it needs to be as practical as possible. Whilst I own it though B&Q trips need to be not as much of a nightmare as they are now. You can't transport anything without marking the white bits.

:D

You could still go with light-coloured door cards to reflect some light into the interior.

Well, they're ordered.......

I went for all black with perforated centres and grey stitching including the door cards. Spoke to Paul who sorted me out a good deal. Can't wait to have em fitted. Proper wetting my pants with anticipation. :D

Looks the same as this:

But with grey stitching instead of yellow.

They'll be here next Thursday so I can then call up to book it in to be fitted.

I can't wait! Want it now!!

Spoke to Paul who sorted me out a good deal.

I thought he might ;)

getting mine fitted in 2 weeks!!! cant wait.

Having all black, with white pref stich, and lamborghini style quilted dimond centre bit. ...... WOOT!

Not sure how many of you have actually lived with leather car seats before - but a word of warning in the summer/any hot days if your going into it with your work shirt on be prepared to take a spare as you'll stick to it like cling film.

Do any of you wear your leather coats mid summer....
